The hotel's location is great, being situated just a block away from Newport, RI and also close to the port. It is convenient for visiting attractions like The Mansions and The Newport Playhouse. The rooms have laminate hardwood throughout with no area rugs, which make them clean and easy to maintain. The staff provide wonderful customer service, going above and beyond to assist guests. The breakfast room is nicely laid out with a variety of options including fruit, hard-boiled eggs, muffins, bagels, pastries, and more.

The bathroom fan/light combination did not work in one of the rooms.

The location of the hotel is convenient as it is close to just about everything. It is right along the waterfront area, offering a beautiful view. The hotel has undergone some updates, but could use more TLC. The rooms are clean and well equipped, with friendly and helpful staff. Amenities overall are comfortable and clean. The breakfast may not be the best, but the service is good.

The added charge of $1.50 for using the in-room safe is unnecessary.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel during my trip to Newport. The room was large and immaculate, with a nicely appointed decor. The proximity to downtown Newport was a key advantage, as it made it easy to explore all the major attractions, stores, and highways in the area. The hotel offered great prices for the quality of accommodation provided, which was definitely a plus. The bed, although firmer than I prefer, was still comfortable and not unbearable. I had a pleasant experience at The Carriage House Inn Newport.

Great Xmas experience at a nice out of the way place near Newport! the accommodations were quite good with a huge room and a very comfortable bed. the couch was perfect for watching TV. the breakfast room was nice and the food was plentiful, giving us a hearty start to our day.

The inn was a bit noisy, being close to a busy main road and the reception area. the plumbing upstairs was also quite loud, which caused some disturbance during the night.

The room was warm and cozy, with updated interiors and a comfortable bed. The hotel's location was perfect - a short drive to downtown Newport, but without the hassle of finding parking. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the light breakfast provided was a nice touch. We loved the new floors in the room, as it felt cleaner without the usual hotel rugs. a great value for the price, especially compared to staying in Newport itself.

the rooms were spacious and the staff was incredibly friendly. the cleanliness of the hotel was impressive, and I appreciated the quiet location. One of my favorite features was the availability of coffee and tea all day, as well as the cute little patio where I could relax after a long drive. it was a charming old inn just outside of Newport that provided a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Almost perfect.

The foyer area is attractive and bright with wooden flooring. The room on the 3rd floor is spacious, nicely furnished, and very clean. The WiFi works well. The bathroom is very large. The staff, especially BJ at the front desk, are personable and kind. The hotel offers a shuttle into Newport for convenience. The location is near downtown Newport, a short drive away.

I enjoyed unwinding with a glass of wine at Newport Vineyards or a beer at nearby Newport Craft Brewing & Distilling Co. The friendly staff were helpful in answering my endless questions.

Oh, and the desk person at the hotel? They were just bursting with warmth and cheer.

The staff was pleasant and the continental breakfast was well stocked. The property was clean, spacious, and beautiful. The breakfast area had outdoor seating on the deck with plenty of sunshine. The decor was charming and the rooms had good ventilation. Convenient location to nearby sights.

The Carriage House Inn was a lovely stay! the old Victorian home added charm to our trip, tying in nicely with the Rhode Island experience. the staff at Ascend Hotel were friendly and quickly addressed any issues we had, like our television problem. I really appreciated that they were prompt in fixing things. the inn itself had a relaxing atmosphere, and the bed was very comfortable. It would have been nice to have larger pillows and the ability to open the windows. But overall, it was a wonderful night.
