I stayed at this charming inn for one night after a long day of hiking. The staff was welcoming and the rooms were clean. The breakfast offered a variety of choices, including different cereals, juice, yogurt, bagels. The inn also had a lovely large lounge in the old barn. It was convenient that there were multiple bathrooms close to the rooms, allowing for simultaneous use. The inn is an ideal stop for both Appalachian Trail hikers and motorists on the scenic route.

The peaceful and beautiful location of the Inn along the Kennebec River was a major highlight of our stay. We enjoyed being surrounded by stunning natural beauty. Additionally, the owners of the Inn were extremely friendly and helpful, making our experience even more pleasant. Lastly, the lack of TVs in the rooms added to the peaceful atmosphere, ensuring a good night's sleep.

One downside was the limited dining options nearby, with the closest Dunkin Donuts being quite far away. This might be a inconvenience to those who are addicted to their morning coffee fix.

The ambiance of this inn was absolutely incredible, it blew my mind! I had the pleasure of meeting the most amazing hosts and their son who were super friendly and intelligent. I was able to use the kitchen to prepare my dinner and even use the BBQ, which was a total game-changer. Although I had mistakenly thought guests couldn't use the kitchen, there were limited guests and it wasn't an issue. The shared bathrooms were actually not a problem at all, thanks to the small number of guests. The location was extremely convenient for my travel plans and the breakfast options were top-notch. The check-in process was quick and the staff was so friendly. And the fact that the inn is pet-friendly was an absolute godsend! my stay here was truly jaw-dropping. I met some incredible fellow travelers and was seriously impressed. I would recommend this place without hesitation and would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you for such an awesome experience!

Great location for photography and waterfall hikes on RT. 201. • the king room we stayed in was clean and comfortable with nice linens. • Shared bathrooms were manageable with a lot of them available.

The house had a rustic feel but lacked modern amenities like TVs in the rooms. Breakfast had limited options.

had a great stay at the inn in Caratunk! Lovely ambiance, met friendly hosts & guests. Kitchen was useful, and the BBQ was a bonus. Bathrooms shared but not an issue. Trucks on the highway noisy, bring earplugs. impressive and recommend. Thank you for a nice visit!

As young holiday goers, we loved the extremely friendly and helpful innkeeper, the well-heated rooms with hot showers, and the interesting stories we heard from Appalachian Trail hikers stopping by in September-October.

It was not possible to see the river from the inn, and dining options in the immediate area were limited. However, there were alternative restaurants within a short drive.

The inn is nicely decorated, taking you back to another time. The rooms are spotless and the pillows and towels are very comfortable. The continental breakfast offers a variety of options, including breads, bagels, fruits, cereals, juices. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful, suggesting places to visit and where to have dinner.

The bed was on the hard side, which was a bit disappointing for someone who prefers a softer mattress.

I recently stayed at The Sterling Inn for a few nights and had a wonderful experience. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and nicely decorated. The innkeeper, Eric, was extremely friendly and made me feel right at home. The breakfast offered a variety of options, including boiled eggs, coffee, milk, juice, toast. I loved that the inn was near the AT trail, as it provided an opportunity to hear interesting stories from fellow hikers. The inn was well-heated, had nice hot showers, and was very quiet at night. The big wrap-around porch was a nice bonus.

Warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly owners, delicious and varied breakfast options, comfortable rooms, clean bathrooms, charming historic decor.
