my previous stay in newcastle was decent, but backpackers really stepped it up. the staff made me feel like family, the breakfast was delicious, and the pool and hammocks were a nice touch. the convenient location near a shopping center was a plus too.

Wifi wasn't working.

I had a very comfortable stay at this backpackers. The owner was friendly and even upgraded me and my son to a huge double room. It was within walking distance of the city centre, which was convenient. The bathrooms and showers were clean and well-maintained, and there were nice big common areas to relax in. Despite some messy guests, the staff were on top of things and kept the place clean. The curfew was enforced, allowing for a peaceful night's sleep, but there were also great pubs around the corner for those who wanted to continue the party. I had a relaxed and enjoyable experience.

Loved the entertainment area with billiards and table tennis, perfect for pretending I belong in a hostel. The swimming pool was a great place to soak up the backpacker atmosphere, complete with questionable water quality. The BBQ facilities were just what I needed to experience a taste of hostel cuisine.

Who needs a detailed letter or map when you can stumble around cluelessly? It adds to the adventure!

The staff at the hostel were incredibly helpful and accommodating. They allowed me to check in early and even provided a comfortable space for me to wait until my room was ready. the rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable, with ample pillows and blankets. the showers were also a standout, providing a luxurious experience. the hostel offered a chilled and sociable atmosphere, with opportunities to socialize and play games. the open kitchen, equipped with useful utensils, was a bonus.

The hostel's distance from the beach was a slight inconvenience, but it was still within walking distance or accessible by public transport. Another drawback was the occasional issue with guests taking others' beds, but this could be avoided by placing personal belongings on the bed.

Despite the disappointing cleanliness, the hostel does have some redeeming factors. the location is quite convenient, making it a decent choice if you couldn't find accommodation elsewhere in the area. the new bathrooms are a nice upgrade and provide a more comfortable experience. Another positive aspect is the friendly staff, who were accommodating and understanding of guests' needs.

I recently stayed at Backpackers in Newcastle for 3 nights. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, even allowing me to check in early and offering a cozy waiting area with complimentary tea and coffee. The bathroom in my room was spacious and modern, and I was pleasantly surprised to find free sausages on Monday mornings. The kitchen had everything I needed, and the location was perfect, within walking distance to the central shopping area. a great experience!

Modern, clean bathrooms. Spacious rooms. Cosy communal area. Social atmosphere with free barbecues, pool table, and pool. Manager goes above and beyond to help guests, even giving a lift to the train station. Highly recommended.
