The old-style building of Oriental was really nice and the proximity to Darby street, which is just a 5-minute walk away, was a bonus. I loved the variety of nice bars and restaurants in the area. The hotel itself has a cool pub and restaurant, especially known for their delicious pizzas. The room I stayed in was very comfy and the shared amenities were good. Despite some noise until midnight on weekends, it was quite reasonable. The friendly staff and convenient location, including easy street parking, made my stay enjoyable.

We stayed at a great pub called Oriental for a Friday night. The room had a comfortable bed, bedside tables, and a sofa. The ceiling fan was perfect for hot weather. The kitchen with a fridge, kettle, and plates was a bonus. The band playing that night finished before 10pm and weren't too loud. This was a relief compared to other pubs in the area with loud music until the early hours.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the value for money. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the attention to detail in the rooms. The hotel is conveniently located close to the restaurant strip and within walking distance to Newcastle's attractions. Additionally, the staff provided excellent service and the basic amenities in the rooms were sufficient. it was a comfortable stay with breakfast included.

The only issue I encountered was a slight inconvenience with the beds, which could be improved.

Room was cleaned and nicely painted upon arrival. The fan in the room was a lifesaver to have some air circulation. There were two complementary bottles of water offered, which was a nice touch. The location was great, close to restaurants and bars.

The shower head was leaking and wasn't staying up. Had to position it so high that water sprayed over the shower screen and hit the wall.

We had a fantastic stay at a hotel near cafes, the civic center, and the park where we attended a wedding. The room was comfortable with a fan to keep us cool. The bathroom was shared but clean and well-maintained. The staff provided excellent service and were friendly. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast at the in-house restaurant. The location was quiet and peaceful. we had a great experience and would highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely residential street, easy access to Darby street, with a friendly staff. The band playing under our room on Saturday and Sunday nights was a fantastic surprise. We were able to enjoy the music from the comfort of our bed. The band finished at 9.30pm both nights, so it didn't disturb our sleep. a great pub with a welcoming atmosphere.
