Location shines despite flaws

The hotel’s location was a fantastic starting point for my Beijing adventure, just a stone's throw from major sites like the Forbidden City. The breakfast spread was diverse and got my day off to a great start!

However, I did encounter a few letdowns. The room had an old vibe, and despite the staff’s best efforts, the heating wasn’t up to par, which made nights a bit uncomfortable.

Staff service fell short. issues included unhelpful concierges and a generally unwelcoming vibe at check-in.

The bathroom had some tired fixtures. the water diversion switch was tough to operate and the bathtub drained slowly, leading to some frustration. Locating the hotel was a hassle due to incorrect mapping and limited clarity for non-locals, adding stress to the arrival. Plus, the room had no central heating, only a standalone heater that wasn't even plugged in, which made for an uncomfortable chill at night. Housekeeping cleaned the bathroom, but with communication issues, I ended up cleaning the toilet seat myself because it was overlooked. The overall need for some room refreshment was pretty clear after a few days.
