The hotel is located in a modern skyscraper and offers stunning views of the city. The public areas are beautifully decorated with contemporary art, giving the hotel a chic and stylish atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure my comfort. One of the highlights of my stay was the buffet breakfast, which offered an endless variety of delicious dishes from all around the world. The spa facilities were also top-notch, with a large swimming pool that was a rare find in a hotel. The room itself was spacious and luxurious, with a comfortable bed and a view that took my breath away. I highly recommend the Sofitel Kunming to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay.

Although the hotel provided an outstanding breakfast buffet, I did experience some delays when ordering food off the menu. The kitchen seemed to struggle with preparing Western dishes in a timely manner, resulting in long waits for the food to be served.

This hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the town center, making it easily accessible to various attractions in the area. However, it is worth noting that it is not very close to the must-see sights of the city. Additionally, there is a shopping complex nearby where you can find a wide range of musical instruments. Moreover, the hotel is within a reasonable distance from the central railway station.

One negative aspect that should be considered is the lack of a non-smoking area in the café on the first level. It is disappointing that an international hotel of this caliber allows smoking indoors, as it can be quite unpleasant for non-smokers.

I had an incredible stay at the Sofitel in Kunming. The view from the 50th-floor bar was absolutely breathtaking, and the modern art throughout the hotel added a contemporary vibe. The buffet breakfast offered an endless selection of delicious food from all over the world. The spa was fantastic, with a spacious swimming pool that was a rare find in a hotel. The higher category rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, offering a comfortable bed and a stunning view from every corner. The prompt service and friendly staff, especially Mr. James Ding and Mr. Kevin Lee, made me feel incredibly comfortable and welcomed. The wide variety of breakfast options catered to both Chinese and international tastes, and the staff even customized my breakfast to my liking. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great service and facilities, wonderful breakfast variety, and comfortable and spacious rooms. The hotel is conveniently located, only 10 minutes by taxi from the city center and 5 minutes from the central railway station. The guest relations manager in the Club lounge was extremely helpful and had excellent recommendations for local attractions.

One staff member at the front desk provided incorrect information regarding swimming pool rules.

The high-rise building offered breathtaking views both day and night. The luxurious room had exclusive amenities like a huge king-sized bed with a selection of pillows and linen, a bathtub with a view, and great modern design. The restaurant on the 49th floor served a delicious breakfast with an expansive selection of meals, including a separate room with cheeses and cured meats. The staff was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall luxurious experience.

There was a minor issue with the check-in process due to a document issue, wasting some time. However, this was quickly resolved and did not detract from the overall experience.
