The location was stunning, surrounded by nature and with beautiful views of the river and the town. The staff was friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any requests. We were impressed by the variety of bird species we could observe right from our doorstep, and if you go hiking on the trail behind the hotel, you might even spot monkeys!

While the location and staff were great, the rooms were in need of modernization. Some of the beds were broken, and the bathrooms were worn out.

I had a wonderful 5-night stay at La Baula Lodge. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, organizing amazing tours for us. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the free breakfast was outstanding. The lodge's restaurant and bar area by the water were beautiful, and the jungle area at the rear provided an opportunity to spot wildlife. The swimming pool was refreshing, and the grounds were quiet and filled with nature.

Can recommend this hotel.

During my Christmas stay, I loved the fact that the hotel had its own boat for transportation, making it convenient to explore the area. the location was fantastic, just a 5-minute walk from downtown, allowing easy access to all the attractions and amenities. the hotel had a nice pool that provided a refreshing escape from the heat.

There were a couple of downsides. the rooms lacked air conditioning and the windows were not made with glass, which made it uncomfortable during the hotter times of the day.

My favorite was the canoe tour, where we had a private experience with our knowledgeable guide. the lodge even surprised my husband with a birthday cake for his 60th birthday. a highly recommended place to stay.

We had a lovely stay at this lodge, surrounded by beautiful gardens and wildlife. The location was perfect, situated on a picturesque river. The rooms were clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and a refreshing overhead fan. The staff were helpful and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed. The buffet-style breakfast was delicious, offering a variety of options. The pool was a great place to cool off and relax. We also enjoyed kayaking on the river, a fun activity offered by the lodge.

The walls and doors could use some cleaning, as they appeared a bit worn and dated.
