the free guided bird walk at La Selva Biological Station in Sarapiqui was a highlight of my stay - the experienced guide helped me identify so many species. The room had a nice balcony with bird sounds, and the open-air dining hall was a great spot for bird-watching too.

No double beds, only bunk beds.

I stayed at La Selva Biological Station for a week as a nature enthusiast. The setting in the rainforest was amazing, with concrete trails that exceeded my expectations. The staff were personable and helpful, and the reception even had souvenirs for sale. The guided birdwatching tour was excellent, and having coffee readily available at the dining hall was a bonus. The location couldn't be beat, surrounded by diverse wildlife and the rooms were comfortable with spacious bathrooms.

100% Recommend this hotel.

I had an incredible wildlife experience during my stay at La Selva Biological. The facilities were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The cafeteria food was great and there were a variety of trails to explore, where I spotted sloths, monkeys, snakes. The location of the accommodations, nestled in the tropical forest, added to the peaceful and serene atmosphere. I highly recommend La Selva Biological for nature enthusiasts looking for an unforgettable wildlife adventure.

I had an amazing guided walk at La Selva Biological Station, spotting toucans, macaws, howler monkeys, bats, and even wild pigs! The guide was knowledgeable and helped me take incredible pictures through his telescope. The whole experience was unforgettable. I highly recommend this place for a nature lover like me.

Some accommodations require 15-20 min walk from dining hall/reception, torches/headlamps needed at night. Free 3-hour nature walk with experienced guide. Beautiful hanging bridge, many walking trails with rare bird species. Simple room with hot shower, comfortable stay. Amazing location, saw sloths, monkeys, ocelot, reptiles. Healthy, tasty, and vegetarian food options. Inside tropical forest, calm place with great naturalist guide.
