macaw lodge was a hidden gem in carara. the gardens and trails were breathtaking, and the staff were the friendliest i've encountered. the food was incredible, with organic ingredients sourced from the property. staying in the bungalow was a peaceful experience, surrounded by misty mountains and the sounds of the jungle. it truly centered me after a stay at an all-inclusive resort.

One thing was missing - a choice for dinner.

I had an amazing experience at this hotel. The location was like a hidden paradise of wildlife, with beautiful gardens and several walking trails. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful throughout my stay. The hotel facilities were well-maintained and the rooms were unique, with floor-to-ceiling screens that allowed me to feel at one with nature. The views from the main lodge were breathtaking, overlooking lagoons and gardens that seamlessly blended into the forest. The privacy of my bungalow on stilts was fantastic, and I could see macaws and toucans right from my balcony. The sound of cicadas and frogs at night made for a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. the cleanliness, hotel facilities, location, and staff made this the best place I stayed in during my trip.

Les salles de bains sont modernes et bien équipées. Le service est amical et discret. Le petit déjeuner est délicieux et le bar avec billard français est un plus.

L'accueil et la dégustation sont assurés par du personnel étudiant, ce qui ne donne pas une atmosphère authentique et familiale.

My friend and I had an amazing stay at Macaw Lodge! The property manager, Meghan, and her staff were so charming and positive. The beautiful property is a thriving ecosystem with an abundance of bird species. The ponds created outside the main building bring life right to your doorstep. The food was delicious, mostly grown on the property and organic. Our bungalow had stunning views of misty mountains and jungle sounds. The trails and waterfall on the property were a bonus. We hope to visit again!

The road leading to the lodge can be bumpy and steep, making a 4x4 vehicle necessary for the journey.

Amazing property with beautiful cultivated paths, waterfall, palm forest, and white beach. The lodge has a well-designed landscape, colorful hummingbirds, and a spacious ground floor with various amenities. Yoga is great too. The sustainable farm provides fresh and delicious meals.

Jaw-dropping location with extra large windows that bring in the night sounds and gentle breeze, beautiful common dining area overlooking the ponds, exceptional blend of landscaping with the natural environment, delicious meals in open-air eating area with serene lake view, challenging roads add to the adventure.

The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of dishes and ingredients. the organic and locally sourced meals really stood out, especially the rice and gallo pinto. the breakfast included in the stay was also amazing. the location of the lodge was stunning, nestled in the mountains and surrounded by beautiful scenery. the trails on the property were a bonus, and the waterfall hike was a highlight of the trip.

The drive to reach the lodge was quite long and on gravel roads, which can be a bit challenging. It took around 40 minutes to reach the property.

I absolutely loved staying at this lodge! The location is stunning, surrounded by lush gardens and biodiverse forests. My room had extra large windows covered only in screens, allowing for a peaceful sleep with the sounds of nature and a refreshing breeze. The common dining room patio offered a beautiful view of the ponds, where I could mingle with other guests. The service provided by the staff was exceptional, and the breakfast, made with organic fruits and vegetables from their farm, was delicious.

our second stay in carara was even more enchanting than before. the property exceeded our expectations with its stunning gardens, quality buildings, and abundant bird life. the staff's enthusiasm for the environment was inspiring, and we loved the relaxed atmosphere on the verandah overlooking the lake. it truly is a magical place to discover the power of nature in costa rica.

The bathroom was clean and had a unique feature of mesh windows, bringing a touch of nature indoors. The staff was friendly and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable. The food quality was excellent, with a set meal that catered to dietary requirements. The lodge also had fabulous trails, including a waterfall, where we saw a variety of wildlife.

There was no air conditioning in the room, which made the clothes damp due to the high humidity.
