I recently had the pleasure of staying at a cozy lodge near the breathtaking Poas volcano. the outstanding view from the lodge, including from the room itself, is simply brilliant. the hosts, Matt and Leah, truly went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. the room was clean and well-equipped, and Leah even took care of our laundry in a timely manner. the shower was powerful and warm, which was a pleasant surprise in Costa Rica. the food, prepared by Leah, was incredibly delicious, and the prices were fair. Service at the lodge was top-notch, with Matthew being attentive, yet never pushy. I highly recommend the lodge for its exceptional hospitality.

This hotel was great for visiting the Poas Volcano. It is built high on the mountain, providing cool air and stunning views down over San Jose. It's only a few minutes drive to the entrance of the volcano, making it really convenient. The rooms were simple yet very comfortable and clean, with great beds and sheets. The panoramic view from the hotel was breathtaking. The breakfast was excellent, with a choice of freshly cooked foods available. It was cooked when you have chosen what you want, so it hasn't been hanging around since the start of breakfast. this was the best place we have stayed on our trip in Costa Rica.

Not far from the Poas Volcano National Park, the Poas Lodge doesn't call out to you from its appearance from the road, but step inside, where Matt makes a roaring fire to drive the chill away. The clean, cozy rooms with picture windows face the valley below, offering fantastic views. The hosts, Matthew and Leah, go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. The delicious home-cooked meals, like the vegetable stew, are a highlight of the stay.

The bed can be a tad creaky, making it difficult to turn over without waking your partner.

I recently stayed at a lodge up in the mountains and it was truly a special place. The lodge had a rustic feel with a lovely wood-burning fireplace, and the rooms were cozy with A++ linens and bedding. But the highlight was definitely the view - 270 degrees of stunning vistas down to the city below and all the way to the west coast on clear days. The owners, Matt and Leah, were so welcoming and cooked us delicious breakfasts and dinners. They even suggested great places to visit, like a working dairy farm where we got to milk a cow. And the best part was the convenient location for visiting the spectacular Poas volcano crater, just a short drive away. I highly recommend this lodge for a truly exceptional stay.

It was the perfect location to visit Poas Volcano early in the morning and have an amazing view on the lands. The rooms were spacious and had a king bed as well as an additional bed, making it ideal for families. The breakfast provided was excellent, with a choice of freshly cooked foods available. It was the best place we stayed during our trip in Costa Rica.
