Great location near La Fortuna waterfall, outside of town. Comfortable, clean room with nice patio. Friendly dogs, delicious breakfast. Spanish-speaking staff, but language barrier was not a major issue.

We had an amazing stay at Selvita Lodge Arenal! The cabin was immaculate and had a stunning view of the volcano. The breakfast was delicious and the owners were so accommodating, even making us a quick plate of food when we didn't have time for dinner. The location was peaceful and the tours and shuttles organized by the owners were a great bonus. I highly recommend this hotel for a fantastic stay in the Arenal area!

I recently stayed at Selvita Lodge in La Fortuna for a week-long vacation. The owners were incredibly welcoming, offering helpful advice and making sure I felt at home. Despite the language barrier, they made an effort to communicate and ensure my needs were met. The location was perfect - quiet and surrounded by beautiful landscapes, with both the La Fortuna Waterfall and town within walking distance. The rooms were spacious and clean, and I enjoyed relaxing on the porch while watching hummingbirds and other birds fly by. The Costa Rican breakfast was delicious, with natural juices made fresh every morning. I would definitely stay here again.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The private wooden cabin was extremely comfortable with its high ceilings and good air conditioning. The shower was nice and the surrounding garden was beautiful, with my own private patio. I loved being able to relax and enjoy the plants and birds. The hotel even had Netflix, which was a great bonus. The staff were super friendly and accommodating, despite the language barrier. They made great use of computer translators to ensure we could communicate and share our enjoyment of the stay. The breakfast was delicious and I heard that dinner was also available. The hotel's location was perfect, providing a peaceful escape from the busyness of the city. It was within walking distance of a supermarket and a stunning free waterfall with a "Tarzan" swing. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a quiet and friendly place to stay in this area.

As backpackers, we loved the natural vibe of the wooden lodges surrounded by lush greenery. The location was peaceful, yet easily accessible to attractions via taxis. We enjoyed the nearby waterfall and appreciated the convenience of a mini-market and an excellent restaurant. The fast wifi and great breakfast were definite highlights. The family running the place was incredibly helpful and friendly, making us feel right at home.

The location was perfect, close to all the hot springs and activities, making it convenient to experience everything the city had to offer.

There was no common area to sit and have a drink, which would have been nice after a long day of adventures. , the claim of being able to see the volcano from the rooms was not true, which was a bit disappointing.

My partner and I stayed at Selvita Lodge Arenal for 4 days and had an incredible time. Adrian and Irena, the hosts, went above and beyond to make us feel like family. They took us on a spontaneous hike through their property, showing us the rubber tree, coffee plants, red frogs, and even taught us how to juice sugar cane. The high-ceilinged cabin was clean and spacious, with a private patio surrounded by a beautiful bird-filled garden. The breakfast, served on the patio, was delicious and the owners showed us a path to the lovely river. a truly unique and amazing experience.

The hosts didn't speak English, so a knowledge of Spanish would have been helpful. Additionally, there was a slight issue with getting the room temperature right for sleeping, as the air conditioning was too powerful and we had to switch between the aircon and ceiling fan.

The owners were friendly and went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and I enjoyed bird watching from the porch. The lodge was close enough to everything without being overcrowded. I highly recommend this hotel!

Everything was spot on

I loved the feeling of being immersed in the rainforest, surrounded by lush foliage. The cabins had a minimalistic design, which I personally enjoyed as it created a clutter-free space. The owners were incredibly sweet and responsive, making me feel at home. I even had the opportunity to practice my Spanish with them and enjoyed a private concert. Another great advantage was the proximity of the hotel to downtown La Fortuna, making it easily accessible within a 15-20 minute walk or a quick and inexpensive taxi ride. Additionally, being within walking distance of the chocolate tour was a bonus.

One of the downsides was the breakfast, which although tasty, came at an additional cost of $6 per person. This increased the overall price for a family of four, especially when compared to other places that include breakfast as part of the package.
