I confidently recommend this place to fellow travelers. The hostel's proximity to bus terminals made transportation a breeze, and the main communal space made it easy to connect with other guests and get valuable travel advice. I also appreciated the free coffee and tea and the spacious bathrooms. The 24-hour reception was a lifesaver, especially when I arrived late at night. The unlimited free Wi-Fi was a major plus, and the staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

There were no private bathrooms, despite what the description said. The lack of privacy in the shared dormitory was uncomfortable.

Ending my trip at Stray Cat was a delightful experience! the staff and fellow travelers were amazing, creating a lively and friendly atmosphere in the common area. It was the perfect place to unwind and connect with others, especially after our busy schedules. the bathrooms and showers were always clean, and the staff worked tirelessly to ensure everything was in order. the owner was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. I can't wait to stay at this wonderful hostel again during my next visit to Costa Rica.

Stray Cat was the perfect place to stay in San Jose. the hostel's location is convenient, close to both Terminal 7-10 and MEPE. the staff was super friendly and the hostel was clean with a nice kitchen. I must give a big shoutout to Cesar, who went above and beyond by sending me my forgotten t-shirt to Puerto Viejo. That kind of service is unexpected from a hostel receptionist. I'm truly thankful for that! If I ever return to San Jose, I will definitely choose Stray Cat again.

The mattress in the room was not very comfortable, but it was manageable. the location of the hostel near downtown could be a bit intimidating to go out at night.

I really got great value for my money at this hostel. The room was clean and had plenty of showers for everyone. The location was convenient, especially if you're taking a bus the next day. The staff treated me so well, they were nice and helpful from check-in to helping me organize a bus in the middle of the night.

The food for breakfast could have been better, maybe more options would have been nice.

I had an amazing stay at Stray Cat! The receptionist was so friendly and helpful, even accommodating my limited Spanish. They offer convenient pizza delivery service and the location near the 7 10 bus terminal was perfect for me. Cesar and Kenneth provided exceptional service, treating me like a VIP. The included breakfast was delicious, and the laid-back common area with games was a nice touch. I highly recommend this hostel for a few nights in San José.

We were pleasantly surprised by the hot showers and the provision of towels. The 24-hour staff, including the accommodating owner, made our stay enjoyable.
