We had a great stop on the Laugavegur trail at Volcano Huts. After several nights in shared huts, it was a treat to have a private room and enjoy delicious meals here. The all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast and dinners had a fantastic variety of food, including good options for vegetarians. The views and wildlife in the area were stunning, making it our favorite part of our trip to Iceland. The staff, especially the tall guy with the long hair in a ponytail, were incredibly helpful and kind. We also recommend using SouthCoast Adventures SuperJeeps with Omar as the driver for transportation to and from the valley.

Volcano Huts Þorsmork was the perfect base for our hiking adventure. The cozy huts offered everything we needed, including bunk beds and a well-equipped kitchen. The breathtaking view just added to the experience. We even had the opportunity to start a fire outside and enjoy the warmth. On our first night, some kind bike tour men even offered us sleeping bags. The main building, which served as the reception, restaurant, and pub, was a great place to hang out with fellow hikers. The food was delicious, with a few vegan options available.

We had an amazing stay at Volcano Huts! Arriving late in the evening after a long and challenging hike, we were grateful to find the staff accommodating and helpful. Despite the buffet being closed, they reopened the kitchen and prepared a delicious dinner for us. The lamb soup was a particular highlight. The cottages were comfortable, practical, and inviting, providing a cozy place to rest. The location itself was absolutely beautiful. Additionally, we loved ending our day with a relaxing session in the sauna. the staff, the food, the accommodations, and the surroundings made our stay truly memorable.

The rooms were smaller than expected, with thin walls that didn't provide much soundproofing. We had to bring our own earplugs to get a good night's sleep.

As youngsters, we loved the cozy chalets with fully equipped kitchens, perfect for cooking meals. The buffet breakfast served until afternoon was a definite highlight. The park offered amazing trails for exploring, with friendly and knowledgeable staff to assist us. It had a great vibe with backpackers mingling, making it a memorable experience.
