the location of carlton on the grand canal is fantastic, right by a water bus stop and just a short distance to murano for glass shopping. i loved how the staff quickly handled our requests and wishes, making our stay smooth. breakfast offered a great variety, so we could enjoy something different every morning.

The location was great but I was shocked to find the staff dismissive and unhelpful. Maria was particularly rude and condescending. Also, my 'canal view' room was just a courtyard view that felt dark. since I paid top dollar, I expected some sort of upgrade or a complimentary gesture for the hassle. just couldn’t recommend it, honestly.

The service was absolutely dreadful. The staff were rude when we had issues and seemed to dismiss our concerns entirely. Plus, our room was not only a far walk from major attractions, but we faced constant disturbances from noisy neighbors and overly aggressive housekeeping staff. I expected better from this hotel given its price point.

During my stay, I loved being just a short stroll away from the magnificent rialto bridge and the iconic basilica of st mary of health, making it super easy to immerse myself in the beauty of the city. the hotel’s position right on the grand canal also meant I could enjoy lovely views while savoring breakfast, creating a perfect start to my day.

I had an awesome time enjoying the vintage design and lovely rooftop bar with amazing views. The sun terrace was perfect for unwinding after long days, and I really appreciated the elevators since not all hotels have them in Venice. Just keep in mind that bar bills can't be added to your room, so bring a credit card along! 😊

It was just a strong match for shopping in Venice with all in all brilliant value for money. The complimentary boat ride to Murano was nice, but I wish we could have visited more than one glass factory. Be prepared to walk a bit from the boat drop-off back to the hotel.
