The value for money at Andon Ryokan was excellent, with a comfortable room and plenty of shared facilities. The location was quiet and peaceful, perfect for an escape from the hustle and bustle. The staff was friendly, helpful, and provided great advice throughout my stay.

The breakfast option could be improved by offering a wider variety of choices.

The hotel is conveniently located near a metro station, making it easy to get to the city centre. The room was cozy and clean, with traditional Japanese design and tatami mats. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering local restaurant recommendations and assisting with translation. The breakfast was delicious, especially the omelette. There was even a jacuzzi on the top floor for relaxation.

The distance to the closest JR metro station was a bit far, especially in cold weather.

As low-budget travellers, we loved the friendly owners, delicious home-cooked meals, and access to a jacuzzi and shared showers. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and even helped us retrieve our lost sunglasses.

As a budget traveler, I loved the range of cultural workshops and activities available at this ryokan. From tea ceremonies to traditional Japanese classes, there was always something interesting to participate in. The comfortable futon beds and relaxing hot tub were definite highlights of my stay.

I loved the fact that we could drop off our luggage early in the morning and explore the city without any hassle. The staff was welcoming and even offered us a beverage upon arrival. The rental bikes were a great deal at just $5 a day and made getting around the city a fun experience. The breakfast, although we couldn't enjoy it due to our early flight, was delicious with endless fresh coffee. The rooftop terrace offered a stunning view of the Sky Tree.

We had a fantastic stay at a highly praised architect designed ryokan. the ryokan was compact, but the clever and considered use of space made it comfortable. the beautiful traditional ceramics and art featured throughout added to the charm. the bath and breakfast were great, and the hosts were friendly and welcoming. We especially appreciated being able to drop off our luggage early in the morning and the attentive service from the attendant. it was a wonderful and friendly place to stay, and we would highly recommend it.

Loved this traditional ryokan with a modern twist! the atmosphere was very relaxing and the onsen/bath was the perfect way to unwind. the room was cozy and the traditional meal in the evening was delicious! the grilled tuna was the best I've had in Japan. the location was great, in a quiet neighborhood with lots of interesting areas to explore. Plus, it was easy to reach the bustling city center if we wanted to. And the icing on the cake? the affordable price! Definitely recommend for a romantic escape.

That the walls were a bit thin, so we could hear some noise from other guests. It didn't bother us too much, but it's something to consider if you're a light sleeper.
