I stayed here for one night and had a very pleasant experience. The staff were incredibly helpful, providing thorough information about the property and allowing me to store my bags before and after check-out. The location is unbeatable, just a short walk from Gora Station. The room was spacious and comfortable, with traditional tatami mats and a futon bed. The onsen was available at all hours and the water from Owakudani was a unique and enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable and authentic Japanese stay.

During my Christmas stay, I absolutely loved the warm and welcoming staff who went out of their way to make me feel at home. They were attentive and helpful, always ready to assist with any questions or requests. the hot spring water, sourced from a nearby volcano, was incredibly rejuvenating and relaxing. It was a true delight to soak in the private-style onsen, enjoying the soothing benefits of the natural water.

One downside I encountered was the lack of privacy in the sleeping arrangements. the traditional futon mats on the floor were comfortable enough, but the open concept of the room meant there was no real separation or privacy between the sleeping areas.

The converted ryokan had a welcoming lounge and bar area, as well as two basement level onsens. the room was spacious and had room to open two suitcases simultaneously. the location was convenient, just a short walk from the train station.

The Japanese style beds were not comfortable.

I recently stayed at Hakone Tent for a few nights and it was exactly what I needed - a relaxing environment in a great location. The staff were incredibly helpful and gave me tips on things to see and do in the area. The onsen was fantastic and the food, especially the pizza, was delicious. The comfortable room and pleasant common area made me feel right at home. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in.

The guesthouse is conveniently located near the train station. The rooms have a traditional feel with tatami flooring. The onsens in the basement are private and enjoyable. The bar and kitchen on-site provide convenience for dining.

The onsen bath was a highlight and provided a truly relaxing experience. I would highly recommend this guesthouse for a relaxing and authentic stay.

The only minor drawback was the limited breakfast options, but there are nearby hotels that offer a delicious and affordable breakfast buffet. Additionally, finding restaurants in Hakone after 6pm can be a bit challenging as many places close early.

This makes it easy to access and explore the surrounding area. the staff is very friendly and helpful, providing recommendations for hiking and even sharing recipes. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with extra comfy futons, and there is a relaxing onsen bath to unwind in after a long day of exploring.

The clothes dryer was unfortunately out of order during my stay, which was a small inconvenience.

hakone tent is a gem! loved the friendly staff, comfy rooms, and delicious food. the hotspring was a dream, perfect for solo travelers like me. highly recommend for budget backpackers looking for a great japanese experience.

I stayed at this really awesome, quirky, and beautiful hotel for my trip to Hakone. The apartment I stayed in was AMAZING! It had a beautiful view and plenty of room to share with friends. The mix of traditional and modern was really cool, and the rooftop balcony was perfect on a warm day. The beds were super comfy, and the staff spoke good English and gave great recommendations. The hostel was very clean and had a social atmosphere, with food and beer available.

I had a fantastic stay at a hip and cosy guesthouse in a fantastic location. The staff, including a friendly Mexican speaker, were welcoming and spoke enough English to have conversations with me. The kitchen amenities were top-notch, and the onsen was a pleasant surprise. The owners and their friends put a lot of love into remodeling the place and running it like a family. The common area had delicious comfort food and beer on tap, perfect for relaxing indoors. Highly recommended for a cozy and affordable stay in Hakone!
