We had an amazing stay at a traditional Japanese guest house near Kyoto's bus and train station. The property had a neat architectural design and our room was beautifully decorated. The staff was extremely friendly and even upgraded us to an individual room. The shared facilities were tidy and the AC and internet worked perfectly. We also appreciated the shared fridge, kitchen, and living room. The location was excellent, with great public transportation access and a safe neighborhood. we had a fantastic experience at Haruya Umekoji.

The traditional house and room were mind-blowingly cool! Close to Kyoto station, super convenient for buses. Helpful staff, clean rooms, cozy atmosphere, and a beautiful garden view from the kitchen. The customer service was EXCELLENT, just like staying at a hotel. Capsule-style bunk beds, kotatsu, and free coffee and tea in the kitchen. Historic and unique building in a convenient location. I'll definitely come back!

We had a fantastic stay at a guest house near Kyoto station called Haruya. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, always ready to assist with any requests we had. The location was great, just a short 10-minute walk from the station and with direct buses to all the major attractions. The guest house itself was clean and well-equipped, making our stay comfortable. The front desk servers were also adorable and spoke English fluently, making communication easy. We particularly enjoyed the cozy rooms and the spacious public area that allowed for both privacy and socializing. it was a wonderful experience.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming guesthouse in Kyoto. The location couldn't be better - it's just a short walk to the main train station, making it a convenient base for exploring the city. The surrounding area is filled with shops and restaurants, so finding something tasty to eat is never a problem. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, offering recommendations for local attractions and even providing a map of the area. The room was cozy and comfortable, giving me a true taste of traditional Japanese accommodations.

The limited number of shower rooms, which could sometimes lead to waiting times.

Poor quality tatami flooring, felt like sleeping on the floor. Location is far from popular attractions like Gion and most temples, adding extra travel time.

Garden View: The serene garden view at this traditional townhouse took me back in time to a beautiful oasis. It felt like stepping into a Van Gogh painting, with nature's brushstrokes gently caressing my senses.

The traditional atmosphere of the hotel was really appealing, with old buildings and authentic rooms. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, going out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. The location was convenient, with a short walk to the station and easy access to all the main sights in the area. the option to hire bikes was a great advantage, allowing us to explore the city easily.

There were some discomforts during the stay, such as thin futons that resulted in a poor night's sleep. However, the staff was responsive to our request for a solution, providing an additional futon which made a noticeable difference.

They provided a warm welcome with local sweets and water. The hostel had great shared spaces, including a Japanese library and a kitchen, where we could enjoy tea and water 24 hours a day. The location, although not in the most popular tourist area, was a plus as it offered a quieter and less crowded atmosphere. The nearby bus stops and easy access to Kyoto station made it convenient to explore the city. a charming and clean hostel with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

I had a great value for my money at Haruya Umekoji. The room was cozy and the traditional Japanese style was a unique experience. The location was convenient, close to Kyoto Station, and the staff treated me with warmth and helpfulness.

Had an amazing experience staying at a beautifully refurbished traditional Japanese house. The tatami room was spacious and atmospheric, with sliding paper doors that opened to a small porch overlooking a Japanese garden. The staff were friendly, polite, and professional, providing helpful sightseeing and dining tips. The common area offered a cozy homey feeling, with 24/7 access to coffee, tea, and water. Great bathroom and shower facilities, and a convenient location near bus routes and a 7/11 store.

We had an amazing value for money stay at Haruya Umekoji. The female dormitory was accommodating and had a pleasing atmosphere. The staff was kind and helpful, the air conditioner was strong, and the common restrooms had bathtubs. The social lounge with Japanese and English books and classical music was a nice touch. We definitely plan on coming back for our next visit to Kyoto!
