The onsen at Shi Ya was wonderfully hot and relaxing, just what we needed after a long day of exploring. The traditional Japanese breakfast was absolutely amazing, a real treat to wake up to. Despite the cold winter weather, our room was warm and cozy, ensuring a comfortable night's sleep. I highly recommend this hotel for a rejuvenating stay in the mountains.

The hotel is conveniently located near the main town and ski lifts, making it easy to access restaurants and ski spots. The rooms are a good size and have efficient heating, providing a comfortable stay. Guests can also enjoy traditional Japanese breakfasts and take advantage of the storage space for skis and snowboards. Additionally, the owners provide warm hospitality and helpful tourist advice.

The building itself may look a bit tired, but this is common in this type of accommodation in Japan.

Authentic rooms, spacious with mountain views. Convenient location near bus terminal and cable cars. Friendly and helpful owners. Amazing food. Relaxing onsen.

I had the most inspiring city break experience at this hotel. the rooms were clean, spacious, and authentic. I loved the traditional Japanese breakfast that came with some classic tunes. the on-site onsen was small, however, very relaxing after a good day‘s hike. the location was superb! I was conveniently close to the bus terminal, which was a plus for me. every cable car could be reached on foot.

That the heating in the rooms made the air very dry, which could be problematic for some. So, the rooms can be a bit cold during November.
