I recently stayed at Onyado Tsutaya for a few nights during my trip to Japan. The traditional Japanese food served at the hotel was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The staff was incredibly polite, kind, and helpful throughout my stay. The size of the bath was just right, not overcrowded, and the hotel's location within walking distance of the train station made it convenient for exploring the area. The hotel's old Japanese-style decor added to its charm and made the experience even more enjoyable. I will definitely be returning to this hotel in the future.

During our Easter stay, we enjoyed the great value of our hotel, the excellent location close to historic sites, and the option to indulge in the natural hot springs. We loved that the hotel had a traditional Japanese breakfast that included local delicacies, and that the rooms were spacious and well kept. the hotel was situated in a convenient location that allowed for easy exploration of the area's beautiful scenery and cultural attractions.

The hotel lacked some amenities that are expected in modern accommodations, such as private showers, and the outdoor hot springs could have been better maintained. While the staff was generally courteous, we did encounter some employees who were less friendly than others.

Comfortable room, with private toilet. Enjoyed the beautiful onsen and provided robes. Street view room, but the staff was lovely. Quiet town, good stop along Nakasendo.

Good size room, lovely tea and coffee facilities, nice staff, excellent location, brilliant sake distillery nearby.

Nothing it was perfect.

I recently stayed at a charming inn in a beautiful location, reminiscent of the picturesque old center of a traditional Japanese town. The hotel's entrance exuded character with its quaint noren curtain, giving the impression of a small establishment. However, once inside, I was pleasantly surprised by the spacious lobby and corridors adorned with vintage furniture and antique grandfather clocks, creating a delightful retro atmosphere. The rooms, although not brand new, were well-maintained and featured traditional Japanese decor, including fragrant hinoki wood furnishings that added a touch of local charm. The attention to detail even extended to the slippers and laundry pegs in the onsen and dining areas, with each pair of geta-style slipper carrying the guest's room number. This thoughtful touch showcased the hotel's commitment to providing a personalized experience.

All in all, I can confidently say that my stay at this hotel exceeded my expectations, and I have no major complaints.

Lovely onsen, well-maintained baths, good quality products, plenty to do in Kiso-fukushima, beautiful walks and trails, enjoyable kaiseki dinner.

It was all superb.
