The hotel offers great value for money with affordable prices and attention to detail. The location is quite close to the center and convenient for accessing the slopes. The staff provides excellent service and some can speak English, which is a big bonus. The rooms on the higher floors offer a fantastic view, and breakfast is also provided.

The hotel's location is ideal - it's close to the slopes and quite close to the center, making it convenient for both skiing and exploring the town. The room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom had all the necessary amenities. The friendly staff provided excellent service throughout our stay. Moreover, the breakfast was delicious, with a variety of options to choose from. We also enjoyed the great view of Nozawa Onsen ski area from the onsen.

We did encounter some noisy drunk people in the playroom, which was a bit disruptive.

Almost perfect

I had a wonderful stay at a centrally located hotel with a stunning view over the town. The traditional Japanese-style room was clean and had all the necessary amenities. The onsen was also a highlight, with a nice view of the village. The staff was friendly and went above and beyond to help us with restaurant and massage reservations. I would highly recommend Nozawa View Hotel Shimataya for a pleasant stay.

It's important to note that the ladies' onsen could have been tidier and the windows should be cleaned more regularly. But despite these minor drawbacks, the positive aspects of the hotel far outweighed any negatives.

The hotel location was very convenient for the ski lift and bus terminal. the room had all the necessary amenities and the onsen was enjoyable with clean bathrobes provided. the traditional Japanese breakfast was a highlight, well-prepared and delicious.

The hotel lacked proper luggage storage and often had unattended front desk. Some of the onsen facilities were broken and noisy guests were present, making it difficult to relax.
