our romantic weekend in shimoda exceeded expectations. ogawa ryokan's friendly staff, modern amenities, and convenient location near the beach and train station made our stay unforgettable.

Lack of clear parking instructions.

Clean room with all necessary amenities. Laundry room and onsen available. Conveniently located near a park and fish market. The cleverly designed small room felt cozy and not cramped. Helpful English-speaking staff.

The hotel has a modern and traditional mix, and the lobby is welcoming. the rooms are clean, spacious, and have private restrooms. the hotel location makes it easy to walk to local attractions and restaurants.

The outside noise level can be high and disruptive to a restful night’s sleep. Although earplugs were provided, they did not seem to be enough.

The rooms at Ogawa Ryokan were pleasantly clean and spacious, providing a comfortable stay. We particularly enjoyed the convenience of having coffee and smoothies from The Black Ship right at our doorstep. The location was fantastic, being just a short drive away from three beautiful beaches. The attention to detail was commendable, with thoughtful amenities such as earplugs and tea and biscuits. Having a room with a private bathroom was definitely a plus.
