My room at Ranzan Hotel was spacious and clean, with a beautiful view of the temple in front. The traditional Japanese breakfast included was amazing and very filling. The location near the river and Togetsukyo bridge was scenic and ideal for exploring the Arashiyama area. I had a great stay and would recommend this hotel.

The hotel's location near the Togetsukyo bridge is great as it is close to all the attractions in the area, including the Arashiyama temples. The staff was always pleasant and helpful. The onsen in the hotel added a nice touch to our stay and they even provided a guide on how to properly wear the yukata. The beds were a bit hard, but overall we had a great experience and would definitely return.

The room had a slight cigarette smell upon entry, which was a bit annoying as we had requested a non-smoking room.

During our Easter trip, we enjoyed the half-board option which included exquisite meals and a view of a beautiful garden. The staff was helpful and accommodating. The location added a scenic walk to our experience, with mountains and a river as a backdrop.

We were disappointed to find that the room smelled like cigarettes despite requesting a non-smoking room and there was limited space in the public baths. The walk to the hotel from the main street could be challenging for guests with heavy luggage.
