And the staff, oh man, they were so helpful and friendly, always ready to give us recommendations and answer our questions.

Ryokan Shimizu was an absolute hidden gem and worth every penny. The room was beautifully designed in traditional Machiya style, with a futon that was more comfortable than any hotel bed. The location was perfect, close to everything but with a local vibe. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and provided us with helpful information and even a cute parting gift.

The location couldn't be better, right next to the underground station Serdika, in the very heart of the city. The hotel is also within walking distance to all of the must-see areas in this city.

The highlight was definitely the incredible breakfast, a four-course meal with a variety of options. The location, within a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station, made it easy to explore the city.
