Spent Christmas at a traditional Japanese hotel and it was an amazing experience! the garden was breathtaking, with lanterns, koi carps and beautiful trees. Despite the winter season, there were still some colored leaves adding to the atmosphere. the hotel provided traditional New Year food, which was a nice surprise. We really enjoyed the outdoor hot spring which was one of the most picturesque we have ever seen.

The hotel definitely needs some updating. the room and facilities were outdated and the service was average at best.

the exclusive amenities exceeded our expectations such as the beautiful private hot spring bath and the extraordinary garden area. the service was friendly and attentive, and we really appreciated the masseuse's skills. the restaurant served special diet menus that were both healthy and delicious. The attractive room was well, equipped with high, end furnishings and very clean. Cons: the venue is a bit far from the station and shuttle service was not available on, demand, but we enjoyed the scenic walk and it was a minor inconvenience.

I had a truly remarkable ryokan experience at Sanyo-So. The classic rooms were beautifully appointed, and the private onsen in my room was always at the perfect temperature. The Kaiseki dinner and breakfast were visually impressive and absolutely delicious. Additionally, the gardens were a paradise to wander through, providing a serene and relaxing setting. I highly recommend this hotel for an authentic ryokan experience.

Located in a peaceful area with easy access to taxis or buses, as well as a brisk walk to the station, Sanyo-So offers a traditional Japanese experience. The spacious rooms are well-appointed, and guests can enjoy a private onsen with perfect temperature control. The beautiful garden with lanterns and koi carps creates a serene atmosphere.

There were some communication challenges with the staff concerning local attractions, but overall, the service was attentive and friendly.
