Stayed here for 3 nights and loved every moment! The hotel is classy, clean, modern, and tastefully decorated. The lounge with complimentary drinks and campfire in the evenings was amazing, especially with marshmallows to roast. The spacious room had lots of light, comfy pajamas, firm pillows, and a king-sized bed. Blue Bottle on the ground floor was a great addition. The staff were helpful, and the location was unbeatable. Easy access to shops and attractions. Spotless rooms, luggage transport, and quick bites made it super convenient. The rooftop bar and restaurant offered jaw-dropping views and amazing service. The lounge and outdoor area with complimentary drinks were a GREAT bonus. a mind-blowing stay!

During my Xmas stay, I absolutely loved the personalized service at this hotel. When I called ahead to request a birthday plate for my girlfriend, they not only accepted my request but also went above and beyond to surprise her with a bigger and nicer room. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making our experience truly unforgettable. Plus, the location of the hotel was perfect, offering easy access to nearby attractions and stations. the room itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable, providing a great space for us to relax and enjoy our stay.

One aspect I didn't quite enjoy was the confusion among the staff on a couple of occasions. There were instances where they seemed unaware of the payment I had made in advance, causing a bit of embarrassment and inconvenience.

Had an amazing Christmas stay at this hotel! The location was perfect, with easy access to both the old and new parts of the city. Loved being able to explore Pontocho and Gion, and the nearby train stations made it convenient to travel around Kyoto. The hotel itself was beautiful, with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The lounge with free drinks in the afternoon was a great perk. The rooftop bar and restaurant had a stunning view, even though we didn't try it. , the staff were friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable.

If I had to pick something, I would have preferred fresh milk for making tea instead of powdered milk in the rooms. Other than that, there was really nothing to dislike about this hotel.

I recently stayed at this hotel for a week-long trip and I couldn't be happier. The top floor lounge and bar offer incredible views of the city, perfect for enjoying a coffee or evening drink. The breakfast options, whether Western or Japanese, were outstanding. The on-spot preparation of Eggs Benedict, along with a variety of delicious items like fresh fruits, yogourt & muesli, and toast & croissant, made for a delightful start to the day. The location is also excellent, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and the Niahiki market.

We recently stayed at Gate Hotel and had a fantastic experience. The location was perfect for us, with a great view of the bustling bars street and just a short walk to the shopping area. Despite being in the heart of the action, it was surprisingly quiet. The rooms were spacious, clean, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised to find two pajamas available for purchase in the room. The amenities were top-notch, and we especially enjoyed the coffee maker in the room. The big lounge was a great place to relax, with a wide selection of free drinks, including wine, and English books to read. The courtyard next to the lounge, complete with a cozy fireplace and wood fire in the evenings, was a lovely touch. We loved being able to enjoy free wine while our kids indulged in the marshmallows provided in the lounge. The bar offered stunning views of Kyoto's mountains and temples, and we appreciated that it stayed open until 10pm. the price was reasonable and we felt that our stay was worth every penny.

Our stay at the Gate Hotel Kyoto Takasegawa By Hulic was amazing. The room was spacious and comfortable with a separate toilet. The coffee shop inside the hotel was the best. The gift shop had great items. The location was perfect, close to stations and main attractions. I highly recommend this hotel.

We recently went on a romantic escape and had a great time. the room was well-appointed and had a big bath/shower room. We were also pleasantly surprised to find complimentary bottled water and a lounge for guests. the location was also convenient, with easy access to buses and trains. One of the best aspects was enjoying the fire pit outside and toasting marshmallows.

The lack of air conditioning made it uncomfortable to stay inside during the afternoon. we could hear a bit of noise coming from adjacent rooms.

During our stay, there were snow showers and umbrellas available in the hotel foyer. We visited the Kyoto Imperial Palace, Arashimaya , and Fushimi Imari Shrine - very interesting and well worth the visit. Street food vendors and stalls were good fun at the Shrine. The hotel receptionist was extremely kind and printed directions in English for a recommended restaurant. The beautiful new hotel is centrally located in the best area of Kyoto with quiet streets and canals by day, lively bars and restaurants by night. The room was clean with beautiful mountain views. The Nespresso pods and bottled water replaced daily were a nice touch. The nightly fire pit with marshmallows is a bonus.
