The owner, who is a local, was incredibly welcoming and passionate about his country. I loved supporting him and the beautiful country of Borneo. I highly recommend this hostel for a memorable stay.

The sleeping area at Sunset Homestay - Backpacker was fantastic. I had my own private space with a light, outlet, hanger, and plenty of storage. The locker on the ground level was an added bonus for extra security. Even though my bunk was on the third level, it was comfortable and cozy.

I stayed at Sunset Homestay for a few nights while exploring the city. The owners and night staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and each cubby had its own plug and light. The bathrooms were always clean and well-maintained. The hostel had a great kitchen area and a balcony for relaxing. The location was central and close to the waterfront and food court. I loved my stay and would definitely come back!
