My stay at Hotel Maria Maria was almost like finding a slice of paradise! The room was cozy and clean, and I loved the charming balcony that offered a delightful view of the lagoon, perfect for relaxing. Breakfast was a highlight, with fresh tropical fruit, omelettes, and delicious avocado toast. The staff, especially Georgina, treated us like family and gave excellent recommendations for local dining. Plus, the hotel's location was just a short stroll from the stunning Bacalar lagoon, making it super convenient for exploring! I can't recommend this gem enough for anyone looking for a fantastic getaway!

Not to mention, breakfast was a smorgasbord of deliciousness – fresh tropical fruit, omelettes, and avocado toast that made me feel like a fancy brunch-goer. The staff, especially Georgina, treated us like we were their long-lost family returning home. The hotel's proximity to the stunning Bacalar lagoon was the cherry on top, a mere stroll away from stunning views! Highly recommend this gem for a fantastic getaway! :)

Bacalar's hidden gem 🌊✨

Room had this lekker balcony vibe which was perfect for those pre-sundowner moments. And honestly, the brekkie was a proper treat—scrambled eggs with avocado, juices flowing! Just a stroll to the lagoon too, ja! Staff were chommies, made us feel right at home.

Only thing was the Wi-Fi was a bit of a vasbyt, but we were too busy enjoying Bacalar to care much!

I spent a week enjoying the good vibes here. The staff were always helpful and courteous. The community kitchen was useful for storing drinks. The location was close to various restaurants, making dining easy. I found it refreshing to enjoy a vacation without the usual resort crowds. I really loved having a clean room with a balcony for some relaxation time. It was a nice break from my busy life in New York.

We had an amazing time at the beautiful lagoons of Bacalar! The staff were very attentive, and the large water refilling station was a lifesaver for our family of six. The room was spacious, and the balcony provided a perfect spot to unwind after a long day exploring.

My wife says that the stairs were tough on our kids.

The upper balconies offer a nice view of the terrace and part of the lagoon, making for a perfect chill spot. The community kitchen area is handy for keeping things cool, and the included breakfast of fruits, yogurt, and granola hits the right note for starting the day.

The internet connection leaves much to be desired. it’s slow and can be frustrating for those needing to get work done, so plan accordingly. Also, while the rooms are spacious, there are no cupboards or drawers for your stuff, which can make organizing your gear a bit tricky. The shower flow could be better, as it felt weak at times, detracting slightly from the comfort.
