Wandering the streets of Bacalar led me to some hidden culinary gems. The breakfast was simple yet filling, perfect to fuel my day of kayaking. And the dock? Pure magic for watching sunsets over the lagoon!

We snagged a room for four, which felt cramped. The bathroom gave off a less-than-pleasant aroma, and the shower pressure left much to be desired—definitely needs maintenance. Still, the charm of Bacalar somehow kept shining through.

The view of the lagoon from the room was absolutely breathtaking, making mornings magical.

My experience was quite frustrating. The air conditioner in our room leaked all night, and it felt stifling without it working properly. To make matters worse, the remote control for the AC was malfunctioning, leaving us helpless. The pool area was dirty, and we had no towels in our apartment. Asking for towels resulted in a one-hour wait time. Additionally, there was no information about the Wi-Fi password during check-in, leaving us cut off. Overall, the lack of basic amenities and maintenance was disappointing.
