We had a wonderful stay at this traditional old house in a "Swiss" style. the rooms were cute, well-maintained, and had completely new bathrooms. the hotel had a nice atmosphere with small details that preserved its original character. the owners were incredibly friendly and provided a helpful booklet with hikes in the region. We particularly enjoyed using the sauna after a cold, rainy day. the location in the peaceful lake-side village of Hjelle was perfect, with a great view of the Oppstrynsvatnet lake and mountains. Highly recommend!

We were running late due to road blocks of snow, but when we called, the owner left the room door open with the key inside, making it easy for us to get in. the view from the hotel was absolutely beautiful, and the location was equally stunning. the owner was extremely friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend this location to anyone looking to experience the beauty and tranquility of nature, and to simply relax. We already can't wait to go back!

The costumes for the waitresses were a little too kitschy for our taste, but it didn't detract from the overall experience. The annex room was on the smaller side, but still clean and comfortable.

our second stay in hjelle was more than we could have hoped for. the cozy rooms, breathtaking views of the lake and mountains, and the opportunity to use the sauna made our stay truly memorable. the atmosphere of the hotel was great, and the brochure with tips for trips was very helpful. we highly recommend dinner at the local restaurant for a delicious meal.

We had an amazing experience staying at this family-run hotel in a secluded, beautiful location on the fjord. the hotel had a quaint charm and the room and bed were comfortable. the view from the hotel was absolutely breathtaking, one of the most magnificent views in the world! We were lucky to have a bountiful breakfast served overlooking the incredible mountain and lake view. the owner was also very helpful in assisting us with planning our road trip. a lovely hotel with outstanding hospitality.
