We were pleasantly surprised by our upgrade at Criterion Motel. Our room had a beautiful view of the water, and the spacious layout made our stay even more enjoyable. the bathroom was also spacious, and we appreciated the eco-friendly amenities like the C4 Plunger Coffee and milk provided in a bottle instead of plastic containers. the quality of the shampoo and other toiletries was also a nice touch. the location of the property was excellent, right in the center of town with water views from all rooms.

We had a brilliant night away at Akaroa Criterion Motel. The owners, Murray and Felicity, were fantastic and made us feel so comfortable. Our room on the 3rd level had everything we needed and offered beautiful sea views. The sleep was extremely quiet, and the ample off-street parking was a bonus. The room itself was hugely spacious with French doors onto the balcony, providing a stunning sea view. The staff, especially the lady who checked us in, were extremely friendly. The check-out time of 11 am was a luxury, and the beds were very comfy and huge. The small touches like complimentary bottles of water added to the overall experience.

Would recommend this hotel.

The motel we stayed in had an incredible location in a charming and delightful small seaside community.
