The hostel is so chilled and has such a good vibe. It's right in the heart of New Plymouth, so we were just a short stroll away from all the cool bars and shops. The talented musicians playing with kids shows were mind-blowing. They totally rocked it and made our trip unforgettable!

The only thing we wished for was a bigger party scene. Don't get me wrong, the hostel itself was awesome for hanging out with friends, but we were craving a bit more of that wild nightlife experience.

Ariki Backpackers has a variety of room options that fit my budget, and the communal areas were great for relaxing and socializing. The outdoor patio with BBQ facilities was a bonus!

The mosquitoes seemed to have a party in my room every night - so thoughtful of them to keep me company!

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The location is perfect for exploring the city and enjoying the vibrant nightlife. It is right in the middle of everything, with the Puke Ariki and City Centre Shopping just in front, and the beach just one block away. There are plenty of cafes nearby to grab a delicious meal or a cup of coffee. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they provided me with lots of helpful information about the city. The room amenities were exceptional, with heating and air conditioning to ensure maximum comfort. I especially appreciated the shared kitchen, as it allowed me to prepare my own meals. the hotel provided a great experience with its central location, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff.

Just stayed at Ariki Backpackers for three nights last week. The location is perfect, right in the center and close to the bus station. The staff, especially Rob the boss, was incredibly helpful and gave great advice. The upgraded room was a nice surprise and the bed was very comfortable. The common kitchen had everything I needed and more. The soundproofing was excellent and I slept soundly. Plus, there was a beautiful cat!

I had a great stay at Ariki Backpackers! the location was easy to find and convenient for exploring the city and waterfront. the staff were friendly and helpful, cleaning the dorms and bathrooms daily. the kitchen was well stocked and had plenty of space for multiple people to cook. I also loved the deal with the bar next door for a tasty pizza and beer. Plus, the owner's dog was a fun and friendly addition to the hostel.

For the price we paid, we definitely got our money's worth. The family room with a private bathroom was clean and comfortable. The location was perfect, with the Wind Wand and shops just a stone's throw away. The staff at Ariki Backpackers were friendly, engaging, and made us feel right at home.

The location of Ariki Backpackers was ideal, with easy access to the coastal walkway, shops, and cafes. We found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. Despite some outdated facilities, the room we stayed in was clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel.

This backpackers is in a convenient location, right beside the i-site visitor centre, making it easy to get information and plan your activities. it is close to the beach, giving you the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful waterfront. being located in the centre of the city means that you have access to shops and other amenities just a short walk away.

It can get noisy at times, especially if there is a bar or nightclub nearby.

We recently stayed at a backpackers in a great location, right next to restaurants and cafes. the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel like we were staying at a friend's place. They had lots of local knowledge and were able to accommodate our special requests. the hostel had good security features, with door codes and automatically locking rooms, giving us peace of mind about leaving our belongings. Plus, there was a nice balcony with an ocean view for morning coffee. We also enjoyed a rewarding hike in the area, with stunning views of Taranaki.

Walking distance to all amenities and the highlight of the day was visiting the museum. The kitchen setup was big and spacious, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Heavy rain restricted our day plan, missed out on scenic walks. No free parking, had to park a few blocks away.
