This hotel is a gem in the hills overlooking the bay. The value for money is unbeatable, with comfortable rooms on the balcony and access to a verandah with stunning views. The staff are friendly and the basic amenities are well-maintained. The included breakfast, with options like muesli and jam, is a delightful start to the day.

The location of the hotel is superb, with easy access to the bay, the Lyttelton tunnel, and a shared verandah area. The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are well-appointed and clean, with some offering beautiful views. The restaurant at the hotel serves delicious food, making dining a delightful experience.

One minor drawback is that some rooms may be small and lack certain amenities like a wardrobe, but this is offset by the overall quality of the hotel.

The historic building was impressive and had reasonable facilities for guests. The garden and the location were spectacular, and waking up to the view was something to behold. The staff were friendly and provided good parking facilities; this was essential to us as we were travelling by car. The value for money was also superb given the time of year.

While the hotel was lovely, the room we stayed in was very simple, and there were no frills or amenities such as a fridge or kettle in the room. we found the breakfast service lacking;

We were delighted with the stunning views from our sea-facing room at Otoromiro. The private verandah provided the perfect spot to sit back and enjoy the picturesque surroundings. The continental breakfast included in the B&B deal was a straightforward and satisfying start to the day. Despite a couple of minor repairs needed in our room, the overall experience was enjoyable. The staff were considerate and the atmosphere was relaxed. We appreciated the rustic charm of the shared facilities, and the little extras provided, such as bathrobes and toiletries. The location, with its beautiful gardens and sweeping Colonial verandah, added to the charm of our stay. While there were a few drawbacks, including the shared bathroom and small room size, these were made up for by the lovely atmosphere and stunning setting. I highly recommend this hotel for a pleasant and picturesque experience.
