We had a great time at the lodge. the hosts were super friendly and had exciting plans for future upgrades like unit renovations, quad bike tours, and adding a country feel with chickens. They also had valuable information about local mountain walks and cycle trails. the room and facilities were excellent, with convenient amenities like a drying rack for wet clothes and ample heating options. the location was fantastic, with a short distance to the National Park and only a 40-minute drive to Turoa. the motel had a family-friendly atmosphere and provided plenty of parking. it was a perfect stay for people with a hire car who wanted to cook their own food.

The location of the lodge is ideal for nature enthusiasts, with easy access to various walking trails and beautiful scenery. Guests can take advantage of the nearby National Park and explore the stunning views. Furthermore, the lodge is situated on a field behind the building, which provides a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

The lodge falls short in one aspect. The breakfast options provided were limited and did not meet the expectations of guests.

I was pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the unit and the beautiful location. The main living area and kitchen faced a lovely open area at the back, creating a peaceful atmosphere. I appreciated the facilities provided in the unit, as it allowed me to cook my own vegan meals, which can be difficult to find in the area. The bed was comfortable, and the spa pool was a great way to relax after a long day. The staff, though not very helpful with the shower issue, were friendly and welcoming.

The staff was very helpful, offering me some much-needed milk for my tea and internet vouchers. the spacious room was well-kept and clean, and the location was perfect for my business needs. One of the best aspects was that the hotel offered cooking facilities, making it easy for me to prepare my own meals.

The shower didn't work properly, with low water pressure on the first day and no hot water on the second day. the staff's explanation was not convincing, and the hot water mixer in the shower wasn't working either.

Mountain Heights Lodge is a hidden gem nestled within the stunning National Park. Its convenient location right next to State Highway 4 makes it easily accessible for travelers. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped, with attention to detail like quiet heaters in the bathroom and a balcony to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The friendly and accommodating staff ensure a comfortable stay, and the basic amenities, including coffee/tea/milk, make you feel right at home. They also offer a delicious breakfast to start your day off right.

All was in order, no improvements needed.

Very convenient location to walking trails and DoC visitors centre. Cozy and warm room. Helpful and friendly reception. Nice big bathroom with heat light. Beautiful view of alpacas. Easy parking. Spacious room suitable for longer stays. Close proximity to mountains and hiking trails. Pet-friendly with plenty of space for exercise. Enjoyable stay and will return.
