We absolutely fell in love with this place! the location was incredible, just a short walk to the beach and surrounded by the relaxed, hippy vibe of the town. We loved the log-style cabin, it had everything we needed and more. the pull-down bed was perfect for our teenage son and the small kitchenette with a cooktop was a great convenience. the best part was the ocean view from our deck, where we enjoyed the most beautiful sunsets.

While we were comfortable in our cabin, the shared back garden with the neighbors and their dogs running around on our side was a bit intrusive and compromised our privacy. However, these were minor inconveniences and didn't greatly affect our overall experience.

Shining Star Beachfront was a great place to stay in Hokitika. The location was very convenient, being very close to the town center and away from the main hustle and bustle. We loved the fact that we could easily walk to the center of town along the beautiful black sand beach. The cabin we stayed in was well-equipped and comfortable, with everything we needed for a short stay. The service was excellent, with a helpful staff and great internet. We also enjoyed the bonus of a field of rabbits right in front of our cabin.

Some of the apartments had an unpleasant smell upon arrival, but the staff were quick to address the issue and accommodate us in a different apartment.

The room was well equipped with all the modern amenities, including a flat-screen TV and air conditioning, making it feel really comfortable and luxurious. The location on the northern edge of town is really convenient for accessing all the local shops and restaurants, and the beach it sits along is great for leisurely strolls or a bit of beachcombing. this was a wonderful experience that I would definitely recommend to anyone.

The beachfront location is amazing with a short walk to the beach. The sound of the waves at night is relaxing. The bed is super comfortable with lovely linen. The Glow worm Dell across the road is a must-see and truly magical. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is milk on arrival and even an ice-cube tray for drinks. The informative booklet provides details on how things work and local food options.

the proximity to the beach was perfect for me, and the rooms were beautifully built and laid out. the access into the room was convenient, although I would have appreciated a mat at the door for the wet conditions, so I had to place a rubber mat from my car there. Nonetheless, the clean and roomy cabin-style accommodation offered great value for money. What was even better was the free attraction of a Glow Worm grotto in the nearby forest. the staff were friendly and helpful, making my stay even more enjoyable. the location of the accommodation was great – just far enough out of town to feel comfortable, yet close enough to easily visit the shops. the cosy cabins had a delightful "log cabin" feel to them, and provided great heating options. I was impressed by the amount of bedding and towels provided and enjoyed the amazing shower pressure. the hosts were both accommodating and friendly.

As a returning guest, I came back for the lovely location, friendly staff, and the very clean and well-appointed rooms. The location has a rural feel, only 2 mins from town by car or 5 mins by bike. It's quiet and offers a great range of options for all travelers. Visit the magical glow-worm dell across the road after dark.

We recently stayed at a beachfront accommodation in Hokitika, and it was simply amazing. the room was basic but had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. the best part was that our hut was right on the beach, so we could fall asleep to the soothing sound of the waves. We had a lovely deck where we could relax and enjoy the beautiful views. the facilities were more than adequate, with a spacious kitchen and dining area, a large bedroom, and a bathroom. We loved spending our evenings chilling out and watching for sea life. the location couldn't have been better, with direct access to the beach. We even had the pleasure of watching a stunning sunset during our walk on the beach.

Everything exceeded our expectations, from the spacious cabin to the well-equipped kitchen and good wifi.

The family cabins had decks that opened out to face the sea, making for a beautiful experience. The property was clean and had all the necessary facilities. It was a short walk to the town center and just minutes away from the beach. The staff were friendly and recommended a great takeaway place nearby. We also enjoyed seeing the farm animals across from our cabin. a wonderful stay and we would definitely come back.
