skotel alpine resort was a pleasant surprise during my recent visit to tongariro national park. the rustic wood cabin style lodge was cozy and the room had a nice balcony with a beautiful view. the staff were friendly and helpful, and the showers were amazing with heating. i especially enjoyed the bar service and chatting with the lovely bartender.

Great location for skiing at Whakapapa, shuttle service to ski lifts, cozy bar and restaurant. Comfy rooms, exceptional staff, delicious food, and friendly atmosphere. Convenient snow gear hire downstairs. Private hot tub to ease aches and pains after Tongariro Crossing.

Felt looked after, nothing too much trouble.

Zero waste policy. Reasonably priced meals. Helpful friendly staff. Fantastic view. Easy access to tracks.

My partner and I had a wonderful time at this alpine lodge. The private spa was delightful and the staff were friendly and hospitable. Our room had a gorgeous view of the mountain. We also enjoyed the restaurant's tasty and inventive food. highly recommended!

The location of the resort near the mountains offers breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery. The warm and cozy rooms provide a comfortable stay, perfect for relaxing after a day of skiing in the Tongariro National Park. The friendly staff ensures excellent service, and the delicious food in the restaurant caters to various dietary preferences. Additionally, the resort offers facilities like a sauna, games room, and easy parking.

Some guests mentioned noise disturbances from neighboring rooms, which might disrupt the peaceful ambiance occasionally.

The location of the cabin was perfect, nestled at the foot of Mt Ruapehu and surrounded by beautiful nature hiking tracks. The room had a rustic charm, with wooden accents and a cozy atmosphere. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained. The staff provided excellent service, addressing any concerns promptly. The breakfast options were varied and delicious, perfect fuel for a day of exploring. Plus, the stunning views from the balcony added to the overall experience.

The ladders to the bunk beds in the cabin were not secured properly, causing some safety concerns. the upholstery in the room appeared dirty and worn, making it less appealing.

Great location for hiking with trails starting from the hotel, and transport options at the door. Meals served on-site with amazing views. Rooms were comfortable and equipped with hot showers. Clean and spacious shared kitchen with modern appliances. Friendly and helpful staff, always available to assist.

This hotel is positioned just up from the Chateau, in a wonderful place, right by amazing hiking trails. The basic amenities are great, the service and staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms have incredible private views of the mountain, with comfortable beds and extra blankets. Breakfast served at 9.15am is always included at a reasonable price.

I was pleasantly surprised by the value for money at this hotel. The prices for both the rooms and the food at the restaurant were very reasonable. Additionally, the attention to detail in the rooms was impressive. I particularly liked the fact that some rooms had their own little deck outside, which allowed us to enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding area. The location of the hotel was excellent, especially if you're planning to start a walk or hike in the area. Being situated close to the ski fields was a bonus, and waking up to the stunning views was a great way to start the day. The staff provided friendly and helpful service, and the food served at breakfast and dinner was delicious.

The rooms are clean and comfortable with the option of a balcony and stunning views. The 24/7 kitchen facility is a bonus for self-catering, and the included breakfast is a great start to the day. The staff are friendly and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant stay.

The outdated wifi system can be expensive and unreliable.

Our romantic escape to this accommodation had a couple of redeeming features. The complementary chocolates and wine were a nice touch, as was the short stroll to a nearby village. The view from the balcony was incredible, with sweeping views of rolling hills and mountains.

The overall experience left a lot to be desired. The room was outdated and in desperate need of refurbishment.

The food is excellent, with large portions and close to fine dining standard. The rooms have great mountain views. There are walking trails nearby and the visitor centre is a short 10-minute walk away.
