The room was clean and comfortable. Property is close to the main area with ample parking. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped. The upgraded room had a balcony with a great view. The host was friendly and helpful.

During my Christmas stay at a certain backpackers in Te Anau, I appreciated the convenient location, as it was situated within walking distance of the town center and the DOC office. The friendly and helpful staff made me feel welcome, providing me with useful information about the area. I particularly enjoyed the cozy common room, which had a social and homey vibe. the hostel offered an amazing view of the lake, providing a picturesque backdrop to my stay.

There were a few aspects that could be improved. the bed was uncomfortable and in need of replacement.

I got fantastic value for my money at Lakefront Backpackers. The room was comfortable and cozy, and I loved being able to see the beautiful lake view and stars through the window. The location was perfect, right on the lakefront, and the staff were amazing - they even remembered my name when I came back for my second stay!

The breakfast experience could be improved with the addition of a kettle and some tea or coffee provided.

Our stay at Lakefront Backpackers was fantastic! We stayed for a week and had a 4 person Yurt which was cozy and comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, providing us with plenty of duvets when it got cold. The kitchen was large and well-organized, allowing many people to cook at the same time. The outdoor area with BBQ and stoves was a great addition. We made loads of friends and enjoyed socializing in the TV room. a great value for money option with excellent facilities and a beautiful location.

I recently stayed at Lakefront Backpackers in a private room with shared facilities. The beds were incredibly comfortable and not being in bunkbeds was a nice change. Our dorm of four had an ensuite bathroom, and I loved the added touch of lights and shelves above each bed. The hostel also had a well-equipped kitchen and a cozy lounge room. The location was perfect, right on the lakefront, with beautiful views and a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. I also enjoyed exploring the nearby bird sanctuary on a free guided walk.

The staff at this hostel were incredible, remembering my name even after I left for a tramp. The storage and kitchen facilities were great, making it easy to store my belongings and cook meals. Plus, the location was amazing, offering stunning views of the lake and convenient access to nearby attractions.

The shared rooms definitely lacked adequate facilities. There was only one bathroom on the floor, resulting in constant occupancy and long waits.

There was nothing I didn't like.

We stayed at Lakefront Backpackers for 3 nights and it was a great experience. The staff were friendly and accommodating, allowing us to check-in a bit early. Our triple room with a built-in kitchenette had everything we needed, and the beds were comfortable. The additional soft blankets provided were a nice touch. The room had plenty of natural light and the soundproofing between rooms was good. The location on the waterfront and near hiking tracks was amazing.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location was right across from the lake, offering breathtaking views. The facilities were clean and updated, with functional and spacious common areas. The outdoor eating area with cooking apparatus and grass lawn was a plus. Our private room had a balcony overlooking the lake, making meals extra enjoyable. The value for money was outstanding.

my recent stay at a hostel in te anau surpassed all expectations. the dorm had comfortable beds and ensuite. the kitchen had good facilities and was open 24/7. the location was great and parking was available. overall, a fantastic experience. lakefront backpackers did an outstanding job.

Showers needed maintenance, door didn't lock properly.

I loved staying at this backpackers! The en suite room with a shared kitchen was spacious and quiet. The location was perfect with easy access to the lake and town. Although my shower had no distinction from the rest of the bathroom, the water pressure was excellent. I recommend Lakefront Backpackers for its comfortable facilities and great location!

We were pleasantly surprised by the high standard of this hotel. Our private double room had an ensuite bathroom and a balcony overlooking the lake. The hotel facilities were great, including a well-equipped kitchen with a large fridge and multiple stove units. The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, just a few minutes walk from restaurants, cafes, and shops. We also appreciated the cleanliness of the room and the comfortable bed.

The shared kitchen had plenty of space for preparing meals, with several electric hobs and a full 4 burner stove. The lounge area provided comfortable seating, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

The knives in the kitchen were not sharp enough, making cooking a bit difficult.
