We recently had an overnight stay at a hotel near the airport in Christchurch. The location was perfect, just a short 15-minute drive from the airport, which was great for us as we were starting a self-drive tour of the South Island. The hotel itself was basic but spacious and comfortable, providing us with the perfect opportunity to recharge before embarking on our adventure. It may not have had a bar or restaurant, but there was a 24-hour shop within a 5-minute walk, ensuring we had everything we needed. Plus, having a kettle and microwave in the room was a nice touch. The hotel also had a launderette, which was convenient for us to do some washing. despite a few minor issues, our stay was fine and I would recommend this hotel to others.
