The food at the hotel was excellent, easily rivaling the best in Auckland and Wellington. the chefs are talented and their estate to plate philosophy makes each meal special. We also enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and beautiful setting of the hotel, especially during winter with the roaring fires and misty valleys.

The price of the hotel was quite high, and the fixed price dinner we had included was disappointing, with the venison being overcooked and tough. Additionally, the fact that breakfast was not included, unlike other places we stayed in during our trip, was a letdown considering the price we paid.

The staff was friendly and the grounds were beautiful. The food was delicious. The bush trails were serene and perfect for wildlife photography. The lodge was secluded and allowed for a relaxing experience. There were plenty of activities to do, including a four-wheel drive and numerous walking trails.

Wow! This forest hotel was beyond our imaginations. We had an amazing time exploring the lush green forests around the property and the waterfalls were absolutely breathtaking. They went above and beyond to make our visit comfortable. the food served was simply amazing, delicious and was never a letdown. the location was perfect, with easy access to the city and the hiking trails around the woods.

The lighting was inadequate making it too dark, and the air conditioning was not working properly making the room too cold for comfort. more attention needs to be given towards room maintenance and upkeep.
