Located in the verdant hills of northern Portugal, this historic Pousada is nestled on the Geres park, offering breathtaking views. The old monastery has been tastefully renovated without compromising its original features. The spacious and comfortable rooms provide a cozy atmosphere, and the magnificent restaurant, housed in the monastery kitchen, serves exceptional food. Guests can enjoy the buffet dessert table, offering a delectable variety. The staff is friendly and helpful, adding to the overall pleasant experience.

Some areas could improve, such as the breakfast variety and the occasional lack of availability of outside cushions for seating.

Enjoyed the luxurious amenities at this hotel, from the outdoor swimming pool with sun loungers and beach umbrellas to the stunning garden area. Loved the leisure/TV room for relaxing and the exclusive room advantages like the comfortable bed and modern aesthetic. the buffet breakfast was delicious with special diet menus available upon request. the private facilities added a touch of exclusivity. the location was amazing, a real pleasure discovering the exquisite region for the first time.

Service at the bar/lounge area was a bit slow due to the hotel being full, but understandable. Would have appreciated more information on nearby attractions upon check-in, but the tourism office provided all necessary details.

A Luxurious and Historic Retreat

My partner and I had a remarkable stay at a stunning retreat nestled in a small village near a national park. The Pousada Mosteiro De Amares, a beautifully restored and re-imagined historic monastery, truly took our breath away. The attention to detail in preserving the original building while adding luxurious touches was awe-inspiring. The rooms were tastefully designed, clean, and comfortable, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and forest. The hotel's amenities were exceptional, including a swimming pool, tennis court, day spa, and billiards room. We particularly enjoyed exploring the cloister and finding peaceful spots to relax and soak in the restoration's beauty.

Absolutely loved my stay! the historical building was a gem, and the beautiful gardens surrounding the hotel made for a serene environment. the food served was fantastic and the staff made me feel at home. the location was perfect for exploring the stunning natural landscapes nearby.

The pricing of the food and drink was not ideal. some aspects of the rooms could use a bit of an update, but this was not a major issue.

I had the privilege of staying in a beautifully preserved old pousada in a stunning area of Portugal. The hotel was clean and had excellent facilities, including a lovely pool for a refreshing swim at the end of the day. Its location was perfect, very near to Geres National Park, allowing me to easily explore the wonderful scenery on offer. The hotel staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful, making my stay even more enjoyable.
