We had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The hotel itself was beautifully maintained, with comfortable and spacious rooms. The gardens were well-kept and filled with lovely plants and flowers. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor seating area, where we could relax and have our drinks during happy hour. The location was also ideal, with just a short walk to the city center and easy access to explore the surrounding areas. The hotel also offered a flexible happy hour, which was a great bonus.

While we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, there were a few minor drawbacks. The outdoor pool area could have been a bit larger, as it felt a bit cramped at times.

The staff were friendly and always eager to help. The location was perfect for exploring the area. The hotel had a shuttle bus, but I enjoyed the walk to work off dinner. The pool was small but refreshing, and the bar staff were welcoming. The indoor pool was a hidden gem. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a variety of options including fresh fruit and bread. The hotel also had a secure car park, which was a bonus. I highly recommend this hotel for a great stay in Madeira.

Dinner in the restaurant was delicious with a great view of an old tree and birds at sunset. Breakfast offered a perfect selection of fresh continental and cooked items. The attentive and helpful staff, especially Rosie, made excellent recommendations for activities in the area.

They even recommended some superb restaurants, and the service with a smile in the restaurant was outstanding. The amenities were clean and well-maintained, including the two small pools that were perfect for cooling down after a day of exploring the city. The hotel exuded a calm and stylish atmosphere, with tasteful and comfortable furnishings throughout. The beautiful gardens were lush and well-kept, adding to the overall charm of the hotel.

This hotel is simply luxurious. The exclusive amenities, including a spa and indoor swimming pool, make for a truly indulgent stay. The service is top-notch, with friendly and accommodating staff always on hand. The beautiful garden area is perfect for sun loungers, and the restaurant offers delicious meals. The location is perfect, being close to town but far enough away to be peaceful. My personal favourite was the rooftop pool with stunning views.

The only minor issue was the lack of entertainment options on the premises. While there is live entertainment, it is only on certain evenings, so don't count on it for a nightly activity.

The facilities at Quintinha Sao Joao Hotel & Spa were fantastic. We particularly enjoyed the spa and the indoor and outdoor pools. The hotel also had a small gym and a game room with ping pong, billiards, and chess, which kept us entertained. The restaurant offered the best food we had during our stay in Funchal, with great quality and a good price. We would highly recommend it.
