During my recent stay at a charming lodge in Piet Retief, I had the pleasure of experiencing warm and welcoming hospitality. The owners went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, even turning on the heater in my cozy cottage before my arrival on a chilly evening. The room itself was not only spacious and beautifully decorated but also equipped with luxury touches to ensure a truly enjoyable stay. I was impressed by the attention to detail, including the provision of an on-site generator to combat unexpected electricity outages. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, featuring a variety of options including a full English breakfast and a selection of cereals and yogurts. I also appreciated the thoughtful addition of a braai area and electric stove in the room, allowing guests to enjoy a homemade meal if desired. The location, although rural, provided a peaceful and secure environment, perfect for a relaxing getaway. I had a fantastic experience at this lodge and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Piet Retief or looking for a convenient stopover while traveling to the Kruger National Park.

Nice place, quiet and peaceful in a rural setting. The farm was nice with lots of opportunities to see some animals. The room was spacious and featured some great amenities that made our stay enjoyable. We were also served a delicious breakfast which consisted of locally sourced food. The staff was friendly and service was exceptional. We enjoyed the location, which was perfect for exploring the area.

Our experience was marred by limited TV channel options. We were stuck with just a few farming channels that weren’t very entertaining.

Our stay at Deo Resta was a true gem. From the warm welcome by the hosts and their lovely kids to the comfortable and clean rooms, everything was exceptional. The delicious home-cooked meals, including a special birthday dinner and cake, made us feel right at home. The beautiful garden and the opportunity for our kids to play with the hosts' children added to the overall wonderful experience. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming stay.

The attention to detail is remarkable, with amenities such as ironing facilities, heating, tea and coffee facilities, and even electric blankets for those chilly nights. Additionally, the hotel offers a terrace and patio with garden furniture, allowing guests to enjoy the tranquil surroundings.
