During our Christmas stay, we were delighted with the beautiful gardens filled with colorful orchids and peaceful water ponds. The private swimming pools with sun loungers were perfect for relaxing with cocktails and canapes. We also loved the luxurious garden-facing rooms and their well-appointed amenities, like the private plunge pool and terrace overlooking the gardens.

The breakfast and staff were outstanding. The hotel's opulent atmosphere and 1920s design make it unique. The Clock Library is filled with antiques and curios. The check-in team and pool staff were excellent. We were looked after like royalty from the moment we arrived at the airport.

The food was a true culinary experience. But what truly stood out was the outstanding service provided by the staff. There were two individuals in particular who went above and beyond to make my stay exceptional - Tiffany at the front desk and Lindlwe, who always had a smile on her face and provided excellent service. I recently had the most delightful stay at a beautiful hotel in Durban/Umhlanga. The location was perfect, with stunning views of the sea from my room. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, from the waiters and porters to the receptionists. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a luxurious bathroom. The highlight of my stay was the breakfast, which was absolutely amazing. There were so many delicious options to choose from, including fresh oysters and bubbly. The hotel also had great facilities, like a pool and a patio where families and couples could enjoy their breakfast in separate areas. it was a truly memorable experience.

That some staff members seemed less friendly than others.

From the moment we arrived, we were pampered here! The luxury amenities exceeded our expectations, with a stunning swimming pool, sun terrace, and beach access. The Spa Centre was also exceptional, with a Turkish bath, sauna, and massage services available. The garden area was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Additionally, the top-notch restaurant had a range of delicious meals and drinks.

While there was little to fault here, we felt that an extra bathroom shelf would have been a nice addition to the room. However, this minor issue did not detract from our overall experience at this hotel.

Nothing to fault.

The breakfast was outstanding and had a great variety of vegetarian options. We stayed in and enjoyed room service breakfast on our balcony with a beautiful ocean view. The staff was extremely helpful and made our stay special.

The beach was dirty with litter which detracted from the surrounding beauty.

The coffee shop restaurant at this hotel is a real gem. From the delicious breakfast options to the quality cuisine in the evening, it offers everything one can imagine. The location is also worth mentioning, as it is situated in a very safe area. I was also impressed by the Victoria Verbaan artwork scattered throughout the hotel, adding a touch of creativity to the ambiance.

One minor downside is that the management can sometimes come across as slightly heavy-handed in their responses to minor issues.

Spacious garden-facing loft room, double the size of sea view rooms. Hotel staff went out of their way for our son's birthday, giving him a small gift. Enjoyed watching movies in the cinema. Great service at the Ocean Terrace restaurant and pool.
