Good location for a rest before O Cebreiro climb. Friendly and helpful staff treat you like family. Clean and comfortable dorm rooms with practical facilities. Nice kitchen and garden for socializing and relaxing. Great place to stay on the Camino.

The value for my money was exceptional, with renovated and charming rooms. The location was stunning, surrounded by beautiful grounds and a flowing river. The staff, especially Maria, went above and beyond with their hospitality.

The breakfast could have been improved by offering more variety.

The manager and his wife organized a BBQ for guests, with a great atmosphere and a big meadow to the river. Chairs to relax, good wifi, and washing facilities available. Breakfast in the bar across the road. Great views including a castle ruin on a hill.

We had such a welcoming and warm experience at this hotel. The staff, especially Maria, were friendly and made us feel right at home. The hotel was clean, quiet, and had comfortable beds. The location was central and convenient, with beautiful views of the mountains. The hotel also had lockers with plugs, which was a great convenience for us.

Everything was spot on.

Free WiFi kept me entertained while waiting for my hairdresser's appointment. Also, got some exercise walking to Villafranca del Bierzo and Cacabelos, only 18 km and 14 mi away!

Wish I could have gotten a complete hair makeover at the property, instead of just a trim. So disappointing.

We had such a wonderful experience at Albergue El Paso. The communal outdoor area was absolutely beautiful, and we loved that there were beverages available for just 1€, based on an honor-pay system. The hosts were beyond amazing - so gracious, welcoming, and enjoyable to be around. We spent the evening talking, laughing, and even dancing with them, other pilgrims, and some local friends. In the morning, we enjoyed a yoga session with fellow travelers before embarking on our journey to conquer the mountain. The overall experience was truly exceptional, and on a scale of five stars, we would give them a 10!

I recently stayed at Albergue El Paso for my second Camino journey and it was absolutely fantastic. Maria and Lalo, the owners, are incredibly kind and welcoming. The location at the bottom of the mountain offers breathtaking surroundings. The bed, shower, and other facilities were all cozy and comfortable. I was even invited to join in on their home-made food and wine. Highly recommended!

They made me feel right at home and even invited me to hang out with the locals in the evening. The communal outdoor area was beautiful, and I enjoyed cooking with fresh vegetables from their garden.
