I recently stayed at Bandas in Zanzibar for a few days and it was absolutely amazing. The staff, especially Myriam, were excellent and made our stay so special. The hotel itself is gorgeous, with comfortable and spacious rooms right on the beach. The restaurant served delicious meals at a great price. The hotel also offered great diving options and had a peaceful, private atmosphere. This was definitely our favorite place in Tanzania, surpassing even the 5* resort we stayed at on the other side of Zanzibar. Can't wait to come back!

The beachfront location of the hotel was fantastic, offering beautiful views and a relaxing atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, making our stay enjoyable. We were impressed by the fresh and delicious food served at the restaurant. the hotel provided complimentary kayaks for exploring the lagoon and offered free yoga classes, adding to the overall experience.

The swimming beach was not ideal due to the presence of seaweed and anemones, and there was a rough and bumpy road leading to the hotel. We also found the bathroom amenities to be lacking, and experienced frequent power outages during our stay.

The beachfront bungalows at Zanzibar Sunrise were simply stunning. Waking up to the breathtaking view of the ocean every morning was a dream come true. The strong cocktails served at the bar were a delightful treat, perfect for unwinding after a long day of exploring. The staff were attentive and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. I particularly appreciated how eco-friendly the hotel was, with no plastic bottles and all equipment made from natural materials. As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to find a special menu catered to my dietary preferences. The live music in the evenings added a touch of magic to the serene atmosphere.

We had an amazing time at this hotel. The location was absolutely stunning, right on a magnificent beach with the softest sand. The service was top-notch with room service, car hire, and laundry available. The staff were incredibly friendly and made every meal time an absolute joy. The spa and wellness center was a great addition, offering massages and beauty treatments. The outdoor swimming pool was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sunshine. The hotel also had great entertainment options with live music and BBQ facilities. The free Wi-Fi and parking were appreciated as well.

The Zanzibar Sunrise At Bandas Matemwe is truly a hidden gem. The location of this hotel is simply amazing, with its proximity to the ocean providing breathtaking views. Unlike other places we visited in the area, this beachfront hotel offers a unique experience that can't be found everywhere. The small but creative restaurant on the property is a standout feature, offering delicious meals and a pleasant atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable and well-designed, with attention to detail in the bathroom area. The staff provides exceptional service, making sure that all your needs are met. The breakfast spread is also worth mentioning, with a wide variety of options to choose from. this hotel offers a truly memorable and enjoyable experience.

One small downside to note is that the beach is not ideal for swimming or snorkeling at certain times due to low tide or the presence of sea grass.

The hotel provided us with a free car that made it easy for us to explore the area and nearby attractions. the food was delightful with a variety of options to choose from. Breakfast was available at any time we wanted. the hotel had an amazing live band that performed every night alongside different special dinner menus that were created on different days.

The hotel location was not the best as it was far from other attractions and the beach had a lot of seaweed and sea urchins which made it difficult to swim. the hotel also had big tides that made it difficult to stay in the water for long periods.

The beachfront bungalows had a perfect view of the ocean and the inside design was unique. the bed was quite comfortable. the beach is gorgeous and great for swimming at high tide. the restaurant serves excellent food, and the overall vibe of the place is very welcoming and pleasant. the managers were extremely helpful in setting up everything we wanted to do, and we had gorgeous dives by Mnemba island. There was live music on the weekend, which was really fun.

The room is a bit dark, particularly in the bathroom area. the beach is unswimmable at low tide and sea urchins could be a concern when walking out.
