I recently had a three-night mini break at Balavil in an interesting and beautiful village. The staff went the extra mile and the food was excellent. The hotel had a warm friendly atmosphere and was in an excellent location for touring the surrounding areas. I highly recommend this hotel to family and friends.

The staff, from reception to restaurant, were all friendly, courteous, and approachable. They even accommodated our early check-in and late check-out, making our travel plans much easier. The location was great, with plenty of local walks and easy access to tourist attractions. The hotel's restaurant served outstanding breakfast and dinner, with fantastic quality at very reasonable prices. It was a perfect base for touring the surrounding areas.

As a celiac, my partner often struggles to find suitable dining options, but the staff went above and beyond to ensure that our dietary needs were met. From marking the specials menu with gluten-free options to toasting gluten-free bread for us at breakfast, they truly made us feel welcome and taken care of. The level of attention and assistance provided by the staff was outstanding.

One minor drawback we noticed was that the car park at the hotel did not have white lines to mark parking spaces. This led to some guests parking in a way that made it difficult for others to park.

I recently had a fantastic stay at a hotel in the beautiful highlands of Scotland. The staff went above and beyond to make our weekend getaway memorable. From being picked up at the train station to being accommodated with a ground floor room, they really took care of us. The service was friendly, helpful, and patient. The hotel had a traditional Scottish feel and the rooms offered a nice view of the nearby hills. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious and reasonably priced food. Breakfast was included in the rate and the cooked breakfast was served on hot plates, which was a nice touch.

Fantastic bar and restaurant, excellent food + service

The bar had a cozy atmosphere and an incredible selection of Whiskeys. The restaurant served delicious meals and was very accommodating to our small children. We highly recommend this hotel if you're in the area. we'll definitely be recommending it to others.

The location was great, being in the heart of the town is always a plus. , the staff was friendly and welcoming. The whiskey options were impressive, with some nice traditional decorations around the bar.

Our experience was not as good as we were expecting for Christmas. The food options were limited and the staff seemed unorganized, especially during breakfast.

We had a great time at a well-located hotel, close to Aviemore activities. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the pool area was a real highlight. The staff, especially Karen, Fraser, and the rest of the Balavil staff, were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The breakfast selection was excellent, with fresh fruits and yogurt available. a lovely hotel with great facilities and attentive service.

The walls in the hotel were quite thin, so we could hear noise from neighboring rooms.

The Balavil Hotel was perfect for our family stay. The friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and well-stocked facilities made us feel at home. The heated swimming pool and separate pool room kept our teenagers entertained, while we relaxed by the log fire in the lounge/bar. The hotel also had convenient amenities nearby like a supermarket, pharmacy, post office, and pubs within walking distance. The cleanliness of the premises and the excellent food quality were also standout features. We especially loved the wide variety of available whisky.

Inside, the bar and reception area exuded warmth and the restaurant was spacious. The rooms were tastefully decorated, providing a comfortable stay. The highlight was the inviting pool, perfect for a refreshing dip. The friendly staff and delicious breakfast made for a pleasant experience. The hotel's location proved ideal, just a short drive from the Highland Wildlife Centre and Aviemore, offering countless adventure opportunities.

I did notice a slight inconvenience during my stay - the lack of sufficient lighting in the hallways.

We enjoyed the clean and attractive swimming pool, the wide selection of malts at the bar, and the excellent food and presentation in the L-shaped restaurant. Loved the Friendly Staff and Delicious Food! The staff at the hotel were absolutely amazing, always ready to help with a smile. And let's talk about the food! We had the most delicious creamy mushroom appetizer and the quality of the food was outstanding. Another great aspect was the location, nestled in a beautiful and quiet town, just a short drive from Inverness and Loch Ness. It was the perfect getaway for a romantic escape.

Didn't Like the Noise and Lack of Cleaning. Unfortunately, our room was above the main door, which made it quite noisy when guests went in and out.

Lovely dining room, great staff, delicious food, talented musician, beautiful Wild Cat trail, attentive staff.
