The location was convenient for us as it was close to Rutland Water north shore. The girl behind the bar was charming and sorted out the matter we had. We enjoyed our dinner in the conservatory on Monday evening. The room was comfortable and clean, with a modern shower in the bathroom. The breakfast options were varied and delicious. a nice experience.

The stair carpet was dirty.

The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of options to choose from. the location was also convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and amenities.

The room was not properly cleaned and was in need of some maintenance. There were stains on the sheets, a broken bin in the bathroom, and black mould in the shower.

We had a wonderful stay at a lovely country hotel with a great location near Rutland Water north shore. The restaurant in the pleasant conservatory was a highlight, with delicious locally-sourced dishes. Our room had a comfortable bed and tea/coffee facilities. The service was excellent, and the breakfast buffet in the restaurant was a nice start to the day. We also enjoyed the view from the conservatory on our second evening.

It would have been great if there were more options for evening meals at a more reasonable price.

Great value for money with a lovely room and spaciousness. The location was perfect with a beautiful garden area for our dog. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.

One breakfast option could have been better - the toast. We asked for brown toast but received mostly white, which was not as enjoyable.

We recently stayed at a luxurious 4-star hotel and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is located in a lovely area, which was perfect for exploring the surrounding beauty. The staff provided exceptional service, from room service to housekeeping, and we were even welcomed with a refreshing drink upon arrival. The hotel offers a range of amenities, including ironing facilities, tea and coffee facilities, and comfortable garden furniture. The room was well-equipped with modern conveniences such as a flat-screen TV and an electric kettle. We were impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of the hotel, and the included toiletries from The White Company were a nice touch.

Although we didn't have any negative experiences, we would highly recommend this hotel to families as well. The hotel provides a children's play area and a dedicated children's menu, making it a great choice for those traveling with kids.

We had a spacious room with great views and comfortable beds. The parking facilities were excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel had a charming and character-filled dining area. I would highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay.

There were some minor issues with noise from the bar and cellar below our room. Also, the bedrooms could use some updating.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The room was spacious and the courtyard and gardens were lovely. We particularly enjoyed the top-quality evening meal in the revamped 1760 restaurant. The location of the hotel was also great, as it was within strolling distance of Rutland Water. one of the best hotels we have stayed at recently.

our recent stay in oakham exceeded our expectations. barnsdale was a delightful surprise nestled in the national park. the friendly staff, excellent food, and picturesque views made our experience truly unforgettable.

As a business traveler, I found the staff at the hotel to be friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and the service was prompt. The rooms were spacious with well-equipped bathrooms. The hotel grounds and location were attractive and easily accessible.

I felt very fortunate to have discovered this hotel as nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

The views were stunning, especially the nearby Lakeland which was perfect for long walks. the Lodge buildings were fascinating and had a lot of history behind them. Rooms were up-to-date and comfy.

The restaurant menu was quite expensive and limited, and there wasn't even a bar menu available. when leaving, I couldn't find anywhere to buy still water.

The breakfast had a good variety of options and the staff were friendly and helpful. The dog-friendly atmosphere, beautiful gardens, and field area were perfect for our furry friend to roam and relax. The bar had a great dog-friendly dining table where our dog could join us. Reception staff were fantastic and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The grounds were beautiful with plenty of areas to relax.
