blackwater hostel in kinlochleven surpassed our previous stay with its exceptional service, going above and beyond to assist us. the cozy room and convenient location were just what we needed, and the well-equipped kitchen provided a comfortable space to cook and socialize.

Great location for outdoor activities and exploring the area. Easy access to the West Highland Way and close to pubs and a grocery store.

The hostel is divided into different buildings, and some of them can be quite a walk away. Not ideal after a long day of hiking.

I stayed at Blackwater Hostel in Kinlochleven for a few nights while hiking the West Highland Way. The owners were friendly and welcoming, and the location was ideal for exploration. The rooms were clean and perfect for families, with en-suite bathrooms and cozy bedding. The communal kitchen had everything we needed, including fridges and even leftover cakes from a baking contest! The entry by password was convenient, and overall, it was above average for a hostel. I highly recommend this place to fellow hikers and travelers.

Nestled in the beautiful highlands, this hostel provided the perfect base for our hiking adventure on the West Highland Way. We loved being close to a pub and having the convenience of a kitchen and nearby Coop. The cute little "micro lodge" we stayed in was cozy and comfortable, with a well-heated room and a duvet provided. The rushing stream nearby added to the peaceful atmosphere, making it a lovely spot to unwind after a long day of walking.

The beds were a bit too firm for our liking.

The hostel had excellent facilities including a plasma TV, comfortable sofa, and a great kitchen. the pool table was a bonus and added to the fun atmosphere. the staff were very friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. the location was also convenient, with a co-op nearby for grocery shopping and plenty of amenities within walking distance. a great experience.

The beds were quite uncomfortable, with thin mattresses and pillows. the room was also small and not very cozy.

We had a fantastic stay at this hostel. The kitchen was amazingly equipped, and the communal area was nice. The staff were really helpful, finding a tin opener for us. The hostel was very clean, dry, and warm. We had a good size private bathroom. The location was great, by the river on the edge of town, and very handy for the West Highland Way. Easy to find the Grey Mare's waterfall too, and close to nature. The staff were knowledgeable about the area. Additionally, there was a pub very close by.

The staff at this hostel were incredibly helpful and friendly, making me feel welcome right from the start. The dorms were spacious and clean, with only two bunk beds each, providing more privacy than other hostels. Plus, having an en-suite bathroom in each dorm was a major bonus. Another great aspect was the well-equipped kitchen, allowing me to prepare my own meals.

Although the dorms were comfortable, I did notice a lack of breakfast and dinner options available on site. It would have been more convenient to have the option to purchase meals at the hostel.

Spent Christmas at a hostel in Scotland with my friends and had a pretty decent experience. What we liked the most was the affordable room rates and the location – both were amazing! the staff was hospitable enough to offer us a nice Christmas dinner as well, which was a nice gesture. the kitchen was useful and had everything we needed for cooking, and the drying room helped us dry our clothes and towels after a day out in the snow. All in all, it was a pocket-friendly stay with some good facilities.

Our overall stay could have been better. We had a tough time with the heating system.
