The staff, the check-in process, the breakfast, the cleanliness – simply top-notch!

Warm welcome, cozy but small room with a view.

i almost gave a good review, but the towels were either dirty or not replaced at all. i mean, who doesn’t love a good pile of dirty towels to wrap themselves in, right? also, the bar area had no ambience, just like the entire experience. I expected at least a nice glass of something waiting for me upon arrival, but no.

We had a lovely two-night stay with a fantastic breakfast, especially the kippers! The room was cozy but might have felt a bit cramped for larger travelers. I'd definitely return!

Sweet as location, heaps close to town, and the room was clean and comfy. Only downside was the breakfast didn't have enough veggie options for my liking. Chur!

Stairs can be difficult for some guests, small room sizes don't justify the price tag, and the limited evening dining options left me wanting more!!! Improve the heating in older parts of the hotel!!!

The view from my room was a lekker sight of the Abbey, and the bed? Flippin comfy after a long day of rugby! Brekkie was a treat, lots of options—I switched it up both mornings. The staff were real chommies, so friendly and helpful!

The walk from the station was a bit of a trek, but not too gnarly.

Room sizes, particularly in the Tudor Cottage Annexe, tend to be on the smaller side, which might not justify the deluxe rates for some. Additionally, the bathrooms lack adequate counter space for toiletries, and inconsistent water temperature in showers can be a nuisance. Be mindful of the narrow entrance to the parking area. larger vehicles may struggle. Lastly, no evening meals or limited bar hours restrict late-night options, so plan accordingly.

Free parking was a bonus. Great breakfast, but the room felt cramped. No pets allowed.

Charming Stay with a Delish Breakfast

I enjoyed a lovely two-night stay and was pleasantly surprised by the variety at breakfast—especially the kippers! The peaceful atmosphere made for restful nights, although I did encounter a few quirks in the bathroom.

chantry is a charming, well-maintained property with lovely decor. I stayed in a standard double room that was perfect for couples, cozy and clean. the location is unbeatable, right near local shops and the stunning cathedral. breakfast was a highlight, generously portioned and well-cooked, setting us up for the day!

the parking entrance is a bit tight, so just be cautious if you're driving a larger vehicle.
