The location of the hotel was very convenient, being close to the town center and within walking distance of various restaurants and the railway station. the staff were friendly and attentive, providing excellent service. the rooms were beautifully decorated and well-appointed, with comfy beds, a good range of toiletries, and a selection of teas, coffee, and snacks. the ensuite shower was amazing and the presence of air conditioning was a bonus.

the noise level in the hotel was quite high, especially if your room was near the stairs. We could hear people coming and going, which disturbed our sleep.

Excellent central location, characterful building with historic features, accessible entrance, accommodating staff, gorgeous room decor, clean and tidy.

I recently stayed at this hotel and got great value for my money. The room was well equipped and I was pleasantly surprised to find an iron and board in the room. The bed was quirky and incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The location of the hotel was ideal for exploring the city, with easy access to both Exeter St Davids and the city center. It was just a short walk to the castle. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always available when needed. The pub downstairs had a lovely beer garden and the breakfast was delicious, with a full English option available.

We had a great stay in a beautiful room in the heart of the city. The large, comfy bed and modern bathroom were just what we needed after a long day exploring. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, even providing a glass of port and fudge, and a mini bar in the room. On our second morning, we found some amazing nearby restaurants for breakfast that were just a short walk away.

We were disappointed to find out that there was no free parking available and we had to pay extra for a car park nearby.

The location of this hotel is absolutely stunning, with a beautiful conservatory that overlooks a lush garden area. It's amazing to be in the heart of town, yet tucked away in a quiet back street. We were able to sleep like babies at night, undisturbed by any noise from the outside world. The service here is top-notch, with friendly staff available from check-in to check-out. They even provided room service and amenities for our pets, which was a nice touch. The rooms themselves were well-equipped with all the necessary comforts like ironing facilities, heating, air conditioning, and tea/coffee facilities. We also enjoyed the mini-bar and the terrace with garden furniture to relax and unwind.

We got great value for our money at City Gate in Exeter. The room was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities we needed. The location was perfect, close to the center of town but tucked away on a quiet street. The staff were friendly and went above and beyond to assist us during our stay.

I gotta say, the value for my money at this place was top-notch. The room was absolutely amazing, with such attention to detail in the decor. Plus, the location was spot-on, right near the cathedral and a peaceful walk by the river. The staff at the pub and hotel were so friendly and accommodating, making my stay even more enjoyable.

The only thing that could've made the morning meal better was if the toiletries had a more refreshing or comforting scent.

Spent a fab New Year’s Eve in a cozy room with a toasty atmosphere. Loved the free port and brownies on arrival, plus the little milk bottles every day. Location was perfect for exploring the city center and all its festivities, plus there was a super comfy bed that gave us an awesome night's rest.

While the room was cozy and warm, just like the bathroom, the hot water wasn't consistent, making it hard to control the temperature. the breakfast wasn't for us - the coffee lacked flavor and the sausages and bread tasted average.
