I had a great stay that included a lovely homemade breakfast delivered right to my door each morning. The hosts were welcoming and helped with local information. The area's calm atmosphere made it easy to relax after exploring. I appreciated the cleanliness of the room and the provided coffee and tea. Although it was a trek to get downtown, the bus system was convenient for getting around. Being from Italy, I enjoyed the charm and hospitality.

Dorstan House is a gem! The location is picturesque and quiet, and Richard, the host, creates such a welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast delivered to the room was a delightful touch, really made the mornings special!

Check-in was a hassle, as I needed to retrieve the door code from my emails. The lack of staff interaction made me feel a bit isolated during my stay. Also, I found the room to be a bit cramped, especially around the breakfast table, which limited legroom and made things uncomfortable.

My initial experience was frustrating upon arrival. I showed up early, attempting to locate the door code in my emails, and the manager responded quite rudely, suggesting that I didn't bother to read my messages. Furthermore, there were no luggage storage options available, forcing me to leave my camera equipment unsecured in the open for hours until I could check in.

my stay at dorstan house was unforgettable, and not in a good way. the room was so small i could barely open my suitcase, not to mention the carpet was rather filthy. expecting some sort of complimentary gesture for my troubles was a bit too much, i guess. what a shame, nearly gave it a good review but just couldn’t.

Had a right pleasant stay, mate! The breakfast was top-notch, with a proper choice of fresh bits and bobs. Richard was a total gem, always ready to help. Just a bit of a trek to the city, but worth it! Will deffo come back, no doubt!

Great room with a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. In-room breakfast was excellent, but no parking on site was inconvenient.

Man, what a lekker time! The brekkie was top-notch—had the full fry-up that powered me through all the sightseeing. Richard at reception was such a chommie, super helpful and made me feel right at home. Room was comfy, tall ceilings made it feel so spacious and bright!

Only little issue was that the bus routes into the city could get a bit full during peak times. Just a minor thing, really.

Incredible breakfast delivered right to my room every morning, very tasty and plentiful! The quiet area provided a lovely escape, and the wonderful hosts were attentive and helpful throughout my stay.

The breakfast selection was diverse with fresh and high-quality ingredients. Clean rooms added to the welcoming atmosphere, and you can easily catch a bus or take a lovely walk to downtown. Very close to Arthur's Seat for hiking too!

It was just a smart choice for a date night in Edinburgh with fantastic value for money. The breakfast variety was great, especially the fresh fruit selection that really started my day right. Make sure to take the bus to the Royal Mile. it's super convenient and quick.
